Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-1 on Wednesday morning AEST to leave Roberto De Zerbi’s men in danger of relegation from the Premier League with one game left of the season.
Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring in the 18th minute, curling home from outside the box, and Andrey Santos doubled the home side’s league midway through the second half.
Tottenham gave themselves hope in the 74th minute when Richarlison converted from close range after Pape Matar Sarr’s backheel.
Spurs poured forward in search of an equaliser but could not find another goal. The result gives renewed hope to West Ham, who are 18th in the table, two points behind Tottenham.

“They didn’t deserve anything tonight Tottenham. The way that they played in the first half, they huffed and puffed in the second half,”
former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson said on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra.
“Too many bad choices, too many wrong decisions.
“Spurs showed attacking intent in fits and starts but they didn’t do enough tonight.”
Spurs, who have not been relegated since 1977, face Everton in their final match on Sunday.
“They are sleepwalking towards relegation,” former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp said on Sky Sports.
“Their home form has been horrendous all season. They’ve had no quality and no character to win a football match.
“Now they’ve got to find a way to beat Everton.
“I feel really sorry for the fans because they don’t deserve what they’ve had to put up with this season. It’s been absolutely diabolical.
“If they do get relegated, it’s nothing more than they deserve because they’ve been awful all season.”
Elsewhere, former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara launched into a scathing tirade against his former club while speaking on The Sports Bar.
“Oh my God, we are so bad. This team deserves to be in the Championship,” he said.
“It’s ridiculous. I’m embarrassed to be a Spurs fan.
“It’s embarrassing, I’ve never seen anything like it in my life, honestly I can’t believe how bad this team is.
“We deserve to be in the Championship. You are not good enough to wear a Spurs shirt.
“I am disgusted. It is disgusting that some of these players are on the money that they are on.
“That team is disgusting. We are so bad, we don’t deserve to be in the Premier League.
“Absolutely shocking. Shocking team, shocking club. Shocking!”
The Hammers must beat Leeds to have any chance of extending their 14-year stay in the Premier League. Burnley and Wolves have already been relegated.
Chelsea’s win at Stamford Bridge was their first in the English top division since early March and lifts them to eighth in the table.
