Jauan Jennings is savoring his new surroundings ahead of Year 7. The pacey wide receiver signaled the end of his six-year stint with the San Francisco 49ers as he signed a one-year, $13 million contract to join the Minnesota Vikings.
A reporter caught up with Jennings on Thursday and asked about his time in Minnesota.
Thanks for the submission!
“It’s awesome! I feel like Kevin Durant with the Warriors,” Jennings said about his fit.

“Big 3, man. You know what I’m saying? Just a lot of talent here.”

NFL fans took to X to react to his response.
A fan said, “Who does blud think he is 😭.”
Another added, “That’s a wild comparison. Bro really said “Big 3″ while standing next to JJ McCarthy and Kyler Murray?”
One chipped in, saying, “Hold up… am I tripping or did Jauan Jennings really just compare himself to Kevin Durant? This can’t be real.”
Some weren’t as critical.
One said, “Jennings is more Harrison Barnes than KD but I get it. When you’re lining up behind Justin Jefferson every week, the coverage isn’t coming your way. That’s real value, even if the comparison is a stretch.”
Another wrote, “Awesome for JJ15 – best of luck in MN. See ya Wk 11.”
One chimed in, saying, “Big 3 vibes already Jauan fitting right in with JJ & the crew. Let’s see that chemistry pop this season!”
Jauan Jennings is buzzing ahead of the new season. However, his comparison to two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant seemed to ruffle some feathers.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Durant is worth $400,000,000. The perennial basketball all-star and future Hall of Famer is widely considered one of the greatest players of all-time. Jennings was referencing the time when Durant joined the Golden State Warriors.
Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder to form a Big 3 alongside Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in Golden State. The trio dominated the league for a few more seasons before Durant left for the Brooklyn Nets.
Jauan Jennings is one season removed from a career year
Jauan Jennings tested free agency just one season removed from his career year with the San Francisco 49ers. The former seventh-round pick amassed a stat line of 77 catches, 975 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 15 games during the 2024 season.
According to ESPN, Jennings signed a one-year deal worth up to $13 million on May 7. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, negotiated the deal.
Jennings joins the Vikings as a like-for-like replacement for Jalen Nailor, who joined the Las Vegas Raiders on a three-year, $35 million deal earlier in the offseason. He’ll be tasked with catching balls from either Kyler Murray or J. J. McCarthy.
Jauan Jennings will hope for better luck with injuries after dealing with ankle, ribs and shoulder issues in the 2025 campaign. It’s potentially a prove-it year for the Tennessee product.
