    Former England international arrested after crashing Lamborghini on motorway

    Former England international Raheem Sterling has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and being in possession of a Class C substance, local authorities have confirmed.

    On Thursday, the 31-year-old was pulled over by officers after his Lamborghini collided with highway barriers on the M3 motorway.

    “No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported,” Hampshire Police said in a statement.

    “The driver, a 31-year-old man from Berkshire, has been arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs, driving dangerously, possession of a Class C drug and failing to provide a specimen.”

    He was released on bail pending further investigation.

    Sterling, a former Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal forward, played 82 matches for England and represented his county at three World Cups.

    He won four Premier League titles, five League Cups and the FA Cup at Manchester City before being offloaded to Chelsea in 2022. He spent two seasons at Stamford Bridge before being loaned to Arsenal, where he managed one goal in 28 appearances.

    In February, he signed for Dutch side Feyenoord on a short-term deal.
