On June 1, 2026, it marked exactly 10 years since YG Entertainment introduced Jennie as the first member of BLACKPINK. A popular X account shared a congratulatory post to celebrate the milestone with old photos from her trainee days and an early announcement. The post quickly drew mixed reactions.
Some netizens responded with strong criticism, describing BLACKPINK’ Jennie as “untalented” and questioning her skills as a performer. This type of negative feedback has appeared around her milestones in the past as well.
In turn, many fans stepped in to support her. BLINKs posted messages celebrating her 10 years in the industry and pushed back against the criticism. Some replies and quote tweets included the phrase “stay mad” as a direct response to the negative comments.
“Jennie only makes the ugly, frustrated ones bark, STAY MAD 🤭”
More fans came forward in defense.
Supporters shared memories of her journey, solo activities, and continued presence as part of BLACKPINK.
BLACKPINK’s Jennie set to headline various festivals
After the ComplexCon in Hong Kong, BLACKPINK’s Jennie is set to headline several festivals ahead in 2026.
Here’s the list:
- Governors Ball Music Festival, New York – June 7
- Roskilde Festival, Denmark – July 3
- Open’er Festival, Poland – July 4
- Mad Cool Festival, Madrid – July 9
- Lollapalooza, Chicago – July 30 to August 2
- Summer Sonic, Tokyo and Osaka – August 14 and 16
These appearances form part of her 2026 festival schedule, which spans Asia, North America, and Europe. Organizers have confirmed her for headlining slots at each event.
At Lollapalooza, she performs as the first female K-pop soloist to headline the main stage. At Mad Cool, she stands as the only K-pop artist on the lineup. The announcements came at different times throughout late 2025 and early 2026 as festivals released their lineups.
In an interview with ELLE in May 2026, Jennie spoke about her upcoming festivals. She said:
“We’re still working on the looks… But I think they’ll be fun and a little bold. Festivals are always different from regular shows, so we’re trying a few new things. I’m excited for this one.”
Tickets for several of these events are already on sale through official festival websites.
In April 2026, Jennie was named to TIME magazine’s 2026 list of the 100 most influential people (Artists category). She was the only K-pop solo artist on the list.
