AEW Stars Still On The Roster Page Despite Reports Of Departure

Despite recent reports that they have now departed AEW, two major stars have still been spotted on the promotion’s roster page. This comes as a surprise, seeing as this is constantly being updated.

Last night, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that The Butcher and The Blade have left All Elite Wrestling following the expiry of their contracts. It was reported some time ago that the duos were on expiring deals in 2026, but now things are official.

Despite the reports surfacing, the duo can still be seen on the AEW roster page. This is constantly updated, as other previous names who have left the company are immediately removed. There have also been instances where stars are intentionally being kept on the roster page, as they would end up re-signing with the promotion. But this could be a case where there was a delay in updating this.

The roster page can be seen here.

The Butcher breaks silence following his AEW departure

Earlier today, The Butcher finally took to social media following reports of his departure from the Jacksonville-based promotion. A fan wrote to the duo and showed support for them in their future endeavors. Butcher responded and thanked them for constantly backing them up.

“Thanks for always backing the coolest dudes in pro wrestling. Bar none.” The Butcher wrote.

Thanks for always backing the coolest dudes in pro wrestling. Bar none.

The duo can be considered AEW originals as they have been around since 2019. They did not have the best end to their time with the promotion, but they will forever be etched in their history. Now that they are free agents, it remains to be seen whether they’ll end up signing with a major promotion soon, or if they’ll take their time and take bookings from the independent circuit.

Fans of The Butcher and The Blade should stay tuned to see what comes next in their careers.
