Jared Goff, similarly to the New York Knicks, has struggled to get over the hump in his career despite multiple deep playoff runs. However, Goff appears to be more interested in soccer at the moment, with the Lions quarterback making an appearance at Team USA’s FIFA game.
In the Friday clip from Woodward Sports Network via the Detroit Times on X, Goff was seen speaking with iShowSpeed’s father. Both the father and iShowSpeed had a desire to see the Lions succeed, and Goff received pressure to do so.
Thanks for the submission!

“Go win a championship next year,” iShowSpeed’s dad said.

“I got you,” Goff replied.
Fans reacted to the clip in droves, with most splitting into two camps.
“Won’t even get past the packers😂😂,” one posted.
“Goff really just lied to that man’s pop like that smh no respect,” another joked.
“Alright now Jared!?!? You betta’ do it!” one teased.
While some fans were negative, others were positive.
“Woah! I didn’t know he was from Detroit! He gets even more respect now! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾,” one posted.
“Nah facts it’s our time,” another declared.
“LIONS 2027 CHAMPS,” one predicted.
Goff has finished over .500 in the past four years and has two losing seasons in his career. Despite his success, Goff has only been to one Super Bowl, and he lost the 2018 contest against the New England Patriots.
Jared Goff tip-toes into contract negotiation window

While winning it all would be a thrilling experience for fans, it would also be thrilling for Jared Goff’s account. 2026 will be the last season in which Goff can arguably rest easy about his prospects beyond the year. According to Spotrac, after the 2027 season, Goff will enter a window in which the Lions will be financially incentivized to move on.
As such, the negotiation to extend his protected window, in which the Lions would be financially penalized for moving on, will logically take place in 2027. Meaning that whatever happens in 2026 will set the stage for the negotiations in 2027 to extend his protections beyond the 2027 season.
Goff is under contract through the 2028 season, but the 2028 season is fraught with danger if the Detroit Lions quarterback agrees to play without the protections that will expire after the 2027 season.
Put simply, it’s a big year for the 32-year-old Goff that could set up the final major contract extension of his career.
