It may not have been a perfect game or a no-hitter, but Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski threw one of the most dominant games ever on June 12.
The 24 year old in just his second MLB season tossed a complete game shutout with 15 strikeouts and allowed just one hit on 95 pitches to complete the “Maddux,” against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Not only did he rack up the most strikeouts in a “Maddux,” – or complete game shutout with less than 100 pitches – he also set a record for the fastest pitch ever by a starting pitcher when he blew a 104.5-mph fastball by Kyle Schwarber on the one-year anniversary of his Major League debut.
Through 14 starts in 2026, Misiorowski is 8-2 with 131 strikeouts and a staggering ERA of 1.34 in 87 innings.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the pitchers to strike out at least 10 in a complete game while throwing less than 100 pitches can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
