    Cabo Verde’s national soccer team goalkeeper Josimar Dias, popularly known as Vozinha, surpassed Jalen Brunson in Instagram followers following Cabo Verde’s 0-0 draw against world soccer powerhouse Spain on Monday.

    Vozinha was spectacular in the FIFA World Cup group-stage game, making seven saves against a team featuring some of the world’s best players, including Lamine Yamal.

    Jalen Brunson became a legend in New York City on Saturday when he led the Knicks to their first championship in 53 years with a 45-point performance in a 94-90 win over the Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

    Both athletes have been making headlines after their incredible heroic efforts in important games. However, Vozinha’s feat has been in the spotlight more for the global sports fanbase.

    On Monday, an X account revealed that Vozinha’s Instagram account had three times as many followers as Brunson.

    As of now, Cabo Verde’s goalkeeper has more than 9.5 million followers on Instagram, while Brunson remains under the 2 million mark.

    Jalen Brunson has been the leader in the Knicks locker room since he arrived in the Big Apple from Dallas in 2022. After becoming an NBA champion on Saturday, Brunson shared the secret behind his leadership skills with Forbes.

    Brunson has been the best player for the Knicks during their incredible 16-3 playoff run. He averaged 28.4 points, 6.1 assists and 3.2 rebounds on 46.5% shooting in the postseason.
