Massive update on Sheamus and Claudio Castagnoli possibly reuniting in AEW – Report

WWE veteran Sheamus’ exit from the Stamford-based promotion has shaken the pro wrestling industry. The former United States Champion worked in the global sports entertainment juggernaut for almost 20 years and won multiple titles. During his time at the company, he teamed up with Cesaro at one point, now known as Claudio Castagnoli, to form the Bar.

The two stars wrestled great matches, and fans enjoyed their tag team. They even captured tag team championships several times between 2016 and 2019. Eventually, Claudio left WWE and became All Elite. He is now a proud member of the Death Riders, while the Irish Curse stayed in the Stamford-based promotion until recently. The latter left the company after WWE reportedly asked him to restructure his contract. Now that he has left the promotion, fans want him to sign with AEW.

Many also discussed the possibility of Claudio Castagnoli reuniting with the Celtic Warrior in All Elite Wrestling. According to Fightful, Claudio is pushing for Sheamus’ arrival in AEW. However, he has a lot of interest from independent promotions. As far as the reunion goes, the two could always team up in CMLL and other companies.

Sheamus becoming All Elite has certain complications

The Celtic Warrior has plenty of options now that he has left WWE. One of the most popular options is AEW. However, according to Wrestling Observer Live‘s Dave Meltzer, Sheamus’ potential signing with AEW might not be easy, as he is a 48-year-old star.

“He’s an interesting one about will AEW take him, because you can make an argument both ways. The age is kind of a negative. The ex-WWE guy, those are hit and miss. Some are worth it, some aren’t. It’s essentially the attitude. With some people, I think that you know what their thing is, and others you don’t. And he’s one of those that I just don’t know. I don’t have a good vibe on is he gonna go in there and be the guy who… like Rusev (…) But you get that and you become difficult to book, so Tony [Khan] will just stop booking you,” he said.

It will be interesting to see what is next for the former United States Champion.
