There is no denying that the National League Central is full of young stars that have signed long-term extensions with their respective organizations.
The Milwaukee Brewers have two of those in Jackson Chourio and Cooper Pratt. A third long-term extension that many consider a no-brainer may not be as close as some would think.
No contract talks between Brewers and Jacob Misiorowski
According to a report from MLB insider Robert Murray, there have been no contract extension discussions between the Brewers and star pitcher Jacob Misiorowski.
Misiorowski is in just his second major league season and still has two pre-arbitration years, as well as three arbitration years following that, putting him under team control through the 2031 season.
Jacob Misiorowski has been a star in his short career
Misiorowski has made 33 appearances so far across two seasons, going 15-7 with a 2.64 ERA and 254 strikeouts in 177 innings pitched.
Misiorowski leads all pitchers in average fastball velocity at 100.5 mph, making him one of the most electric pitchers to watch each time he takes the mound.
