Max Holloway is keen for another UFC title if the Conor McGregor trilogy doesn’t take place. ‘Blessed’ won his fight against the Irishman, but that came due to McGregor’s knee injury.
‘The Notorious’ was unable to continue after a minute or so of the first round, and the referee waved the fight off. While Holloway got the win under his belt, he has repeatedly claimed a rematch against McGregor at welterweight would suit him.
However, the former BMF and featherweight champion is also interested in becoming the lightweight champion.
Speaking on his stream, ‘Blessed’ brought up a title shot next, and Justin Gaethje would be his target:

“Selfishly, I hope I get the next title shot.”
Holloway continued:
“If it’s not Conor, give your boy a title shot. Me and Justin got history…You know it’s going to be a striking war, so why not?”
Check out Max Holloway’s comments below:
Holloway and Gaethje had a lightweight war at UFC 300, which also produced one of the greatest finishes in the sport’s history.
Gaethje was knocked out cold in the final seconds of the fight after Holloway and his rival traded blows in the middle of the octagon.
However, Gaethje has recovered well from that night and beat Ilia Topuria at the UFC Freedom 250 event to win the lightweight title.
Holloway, for his part, does have a few losses to his name after the win over Gaethje, and it is to be seen what the UFC’s plan is for the lightweight title.
Max Holloway explains UFC 329 celebrations
While the UFC 329 main event didn’t turn out to be the war that people expected, Max Holloway still celebrated a huge win.
‘Blessed’ was also seen doing the billionaire strut, which was made famous by Conor McGregor. While the fight was called off due to McGregor’s knee injury, Holloway, in a recent stream, shared why he celebrated in the octagon:
“I did [celebrate the win]. I slipped the kick, he landed wrong. I ground and pounded him.”
