Veteran batter Rohit Sharma answered all his critics with a solid century at Lord’s in the third ODI against England. While the Men in Blue lost the game and the series, his knock stood out amid all the outside noise.
There were rumours about the Lord’s ODI being Rohit Sharma’s last international match, with the selectors wanting to move on from him. With pressure of having failed in the previous two games, along with retirement rumours, the onus was on Rohit Sharma to bounce back.
The star batter did just that, smashing a brilliant ton and becoming the first Indian batter to score an ODI hundred at the iconic Lord’s. It was his 34th century in the format as he reminded everyone of his class and abilities. While he broke several records, he also became the oldest Indian to score an ODI hundred.

#5 Virat Kohli, 2026
Star batter and Rohit Sharma’s current teammate, Virat Kohli, is at number five on this list. Kohli had scored a hundred in the third ODI of the home series against New Zealand at Indore on January 18, 2026, at the age of 37 years and 74 days.
The right-hander, batting at number three, made 124 runs off 108 balls with 10 fours and three maximums at a strike rate of 114.81. Unfortunately, his ton came in a losing cause as India fell 42 runs short while chasing 338.
#4 Mohinder Amarnath, 1988
Former India all-rounder and 1983 World Cup winner Mohinder Amarnath takes the fourth spot on this list. At the age of 37 years and 185 days, he scored an unbeaten century against New Zealand on March 27, 1988, at Sharjah.
Batting first, India scored a formidable total of 267/7 back in the day, powered by Mohinder Amarnath’s brilliance. He made 102* off 139 balls with six boundaries and also won the ‘Player of the Match’ as India claimed a 73-run win.
#3 Sunil Gavaskar, 1987
The legendary Sunil Gavaskar is at number three on this list. At the age of 38 years and 113 days, he scored an unbeaten century against New Zealand in Nagpur during the 1987 World Cup.
Chasing 229, India won the game comfortably by nine wickets courtesy of a solid ton from Sunil Gavaskar. He made 103* off just 88 balls with 10 fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 117.04.
#2 Sachin Tendulkar, 2012
At the second position on this list comes the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who held the record previously before Rohit Sharma. Tendulkar had scored a ton at the age of 38 years and 327 days against Bangladesh at Mirpur in 2012. It was the historic game where Tendulkar scored his 100th international hundred.
Opening the batting for India, he struck 114 runs off 147 balls with 12 boundaries and a six. Unfortunately, Bangladesh went on to beat the Men in Blue by five wickets. Nonetheless, it remains a memorable game for Indian fans given the might of the record achieved by Tendulkar.

Finally, Rohit Sharma tops this list, having broken Tendulkar’s record. In the final ODI of the series against England at Lord’s, Rohit smashed a terrific ton while opening the batting for India. Chasing a massive target of 388, he kept the hopes alive with his aggressive hitting.
At the age of 39 years and 80 days, Rohit Sharma made 138 runs off 110 balls at a strike rate of 125.45. His record-breaking knock was laced with 17 boundaries and five maximums. Notably, he also features another time on this list, having scored an unbeaten 121 against Australia at Sydney in 2025 at the age of 38 years and 178 days.
