Earlier this month, the U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team (USWYNT) had a summer training camp and played in two international friendlies. The team convened from July 5-16 at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Ga.
The National Training Center opened in May 2026 and is home to all of U.S. Soccer’s national teams. The center has a player-driven environment and fosters development throughout all 27 of the U.S.’s national teams.
In June, USWYNT head coach Vicky Jepson, called up 24 players for the camp and international games, including young NWSL stars Micayla Johnson, Zoe Matthews, Evan O’Steen, Onyeka Gamero, Sofia Cedeno, and Katie Scott.
The USWYNT took on the England Under-20 WNT on July 9 for the first international match up at the National Training Center. The game ended in a 1-1 draw with Johnson scoring the U.S.’s only goal.
Their second international match up took place on July 12 against the Colombia Under-20 WNT. The USYNT dropped to Colombia 1-0 as they struggled to convert shots into goals. England and Colombia also faced off on July 15 and finished in a draw.
The USWYNT’s July camp was the final training camp before Jepson chooses the roster that will represent the U.S. in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland. The roster will consist of 21 players and will play its first game on September 6 against the Italy Under-19 WNT.
