Daniel Jones has issued a major update ahead of the Indianapolis Colts training camp. According to Ari Meirov, the veteran quarterback said on the “Pat McAfee Show” that he is fully cleared from the Achilles injury he suffered in December, and he will be on the field for the start of training camp this week.
Jones suffered the injury in a matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars and was ruled out for the rest of the 2025 season. NFL fans reacted to his update via X.

Daniel Jones had a bounce-back season with the Colts in 2025. The former New York Giants signal-caller amassed a stat line of 3,101 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 13 games. The Colts looked like deep postseason contenders for large spells with him under center.
Jones did all of that while playing on a one-year prove-it deal valued at $14 million. He’s since signed a two-year, $88 million contract extension with Shane Steichen’s team, while being poised to lead them for the foreseeable future.
Daniel Jones set for Year 8
The New York Giants selected Daniel Jones in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft. Jones was drafted as the potential heir to Eli Manning, who was coming to the end of his storied professional career.
Jones has had an up-and-down stint with the Giants. He helped them to the playoffs in the 2022 season, where they reached the divisional round before being eliminated by the Philadelphia Eagles.
However, there were some lows, including persistent injury issues, early elimination from playoff contention and his 2024 bench in that led to his release. He left the Giants with a 24-44-1 record as their starting quarterback.
Daniel Jones’ career has seen a resurgence under the bright lights of Indianapolis. He was a key component in their eight-win 2025 season, and he’s poised to lead them out in 2026. He’s now looking at a return to action in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.
