Arsenal could reportedly launch a concrete proposal to sign Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen, as per Football Insider.
After helping Napoli win the Serie A title, the 27-year-old joined Cimbom a couple of years ago. He initially signed on loan before the deal became permanent last summer.
During the 2024/25 campaign, the Nigerian showcased his productivity, scoring 37 goals and registering seven assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
Osimhen displayed his goal-scoring prowess last season as well, making 28 goal contributions in 33 matches in all tournaments. Moreover, he has enjoyed a bright start to this term, scoring twice in the opening Super Lig game.
The Nigerian has helped Galatasaray win two league titles and a domestic cup competition over the last couple of seasons. Having proven his worth in club football, he has established himself as a talismanic figure for the Nigerian national team.
Now, Football Insider state that Arsenal are interested in Osimhen and have enquired about his availability during talks with Galatasaray over Gabriel Martinelli potentially moving to Rams Park Stadyumu.
Arsenal could even launch a concrete bid to seal the deal, with Galatasaray demanding more than £60m to sell him, and the player’s existing deal is set to run until 2029.
Osimhen to Arsenal
The report state that Osimhen currently earns around £300,000-a-week in salary at Rams Park Stadyumu, and Arsenal will have to make him the club’s highest-paid player to sign him this summer.
Osimhen is a 6ft 1in tall right-footed striker. He is quick, strong, good in the air, and efficient in finishing off his chances. Moreover, he can hold up the play and work hard without possession.
The 27-year-old is a highly talented player and possesses the necessary physical attributes to flourish in the Premier League. So, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services before the end of this transfer window.
Meanwhile, Arsenal currently have Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres as options to deploy in the striker position, but the Brazilian has entered the final year of his current contract.
