Tottenham are threatening to finish their summer rebuild with a complete overhaul of Roberto De Zerbi’s attacking options.
Spurs have finally reached an agreement with Man City for Savinho after making the Brazilian winger one of their priority targets. The deal is worth an initial £75 million, with another £10 million potentially following through bonuses.
Savinho is due to undergo a medical before completing the move. Although the final paperwork and official announcement are still required, the main agreement is now in place.
It represents a significant breakthrough for Tottenham, who also attempted to sign the 22-year-old last summer.
City refused to sell, but Savinho’s desire for a more prominent role has helped Spurs return and finally make progress.

De Zerbi is set to add a winger comfortable attacking from either side. Savinho can carry the ball at speed, stretch a defence and create space by staying wide, qualities which could give Tottenham a different route into the penalty area.
The north London club are simultaneously working on a separate agreement for Omar Marmoush. Talks with City have advanced, and the potential fee could be around £75 million.
Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025, but has faced fierce competition from Erling Haaland for opportunities through the middle. He can operate as the main striker, play off another forward or move into a wider starting position.
Sky Sports has reported that discussions remain ongoing, while the Guardian says City are close to sanctioning both transfers.
However, Tottenham’s attacking work may extend well beyond their proposed City double deal.
Tottenham to make imminent new bid for Liverpool star Cody Gakpo
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla now claims the Marmoush move is approaching its conclusion and that Spurs are preparing another offer for £250,000-per-week Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo.
Pedulla reports that Tottenham want to sign both players, meaning Gakpo is not simply being treated as an alternative in case the Marmoush negotiations collapse.
Spurs have admired the Netherlands international throughout the summer and made contact with his representatives earlier in the window.
Their next challenge is convincing Liverpool, who have shown little appetite to lose an experienced attacker to a Premier League rival.
Gakpo still has four years remaining on his Anfield contract and Liverpool would want a replacement secured before considering his departure, and they also want an offer in excess of £60 million.
The Reds have been pursuing PSG winger Bradley Barcola for weeks, but there is no guarantee that pursuit will create an opening for Tottenham.
The 27-year-old would give De Zerbi another player capable of filling several roles, after regularly starting from the left for Liverpool but can also lead the line or work behind a striker.
Pedulla’s update suggests Tottenham are ready to test Liverpool’s not for sale stance while still pushing to complete the Marmoush deal.
After securing Savinho, Spurs could now attempt to add two more major forwards before the window closes.
