It is the race that kicks off the season for Barcelona runners after the summer break. A true classic, it is already approaching its 48th edition; the Cursa de la Mercè adds to the traditional 10 km distance an additional 2 km for beginners. The event is scheduled for next Sunday, September 20.
The Mercè Bimbo Global Race 2026 has already surpassed 15,000 participants registered across its three formats. After the Family Race bibs sold out, only a few spots remain for the 10 km event, and registration remains open for the inclusive 2 km race.
Registration only costs 5 euros.
THIS IS THE COURSE
Start: Aragó Street, near Pau Claris Street.
Itinerary: Aragó Street, near Pau Claris Street, to Roma Avenue, turn right onto Casanova Street and, again, turn right onto Valencia Street up to the Sant Joan promenade with a right turn, to the Lluís Companys promenade, descending along the right-hand side in the direction of travel. Turn right onto Pujades Street and, continuing straight, turn left onto Picasso promenade up to Marquès d’Argentera Avenue, with a right turn onto Isabel II promenade, Colom promenade until the roundabout at Plaça de les Drassanes, turn right to take Avinguda del Paral·lel until a right onto Entença Street. Turn right onto Floridablanca Street, turn left onto Ronda de Sant Antoni, Universitat Square, turn right onto Pelai Street, turn left onto Plaça Catalunya and the finish near Bergara Street.
Finish: Plaça Catalunya.
