Who said Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen couldn’t beat the big, bad Houston Texans?
Entering Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season, Allen had struggled against the AFC rival. In his first five games against Houston, the QB completed a below-average 55.4 percent of his passes for 980 yards, three touchdown passes and three interceptions, posting an abysmal 72.7 passer rating.
Luckily for the Bills, he forgot about those struggles in Sunday’s game at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
Josh Allen flourished in Week 1 against Texans
Against Houston, Allen went 20-of-29 passing for 334 yards and two touchdowns, including a 34-yarder to wide receiver Joshua Palmer, which gave the Bills a 36-31 lead late in the fourth quarter. On the ensuing drive, Texans QB C.J. Stroud fumbled in the red zone, giving new Buffalo head coach Joe Brady his first win.
Allen also used his legs plenty against Houston. He ran for 23 yards and two TDs on six carries.
