Amanda Anisimova’s drastic physical transformation has led to speculation among tennis fans that the two-time Grand Slam finalist is on Ozempic, which is primarily a type 2 diabetes medication that is also used alternatively for weight loss and management. However, Anisimova has shut down the speculation and several fans have slammed the Ozempic accusations against the former World No. 3 and negative comments discussing her body.
After discussions about Amanda Anisimova being on Ozempic gained significant traction on social media, the four-time WTA Tour-level singles titlist took to her Instagram Stories and urged critics to ‘leave her alone’ through a blunt message.

“To all the health specialists and professional body commentators in the comments, I’m not on Ozempic, please leave me alone ❤️ and out of your unique posts 🐼🩵,” Anisimova captioned her Instagram Story.
Subsequently, numerous tennis fans took to Reddit and wrote in support of the current World No. 11 in women’s singles tennis.
“Her body and life, leave her alone. People are so strange and judgemental. Her mental health is important. You’re sick bullies,” one fan wrote.
“Imagine hating and body shaming an elite athlete…,” commented another.
“Weren’t people hating on her for being “too fat” a few months ago? Poor girl just can’t catch a break,” another fan chimed in.
“If people thought she was too fat, those people are f**king idiots. She looked great at the (US) Open,” opined one.
“It really is just sexism. Women are either too fat or too skinny or too {insert arbitrary criticism} no matter what they do,” another added.
“I genuinely don’t understand how people can look at a professional athlete, especially one as successful as her, and think ‘I should comment on their weight’,” weighed in yet another fan.

Amanda Anisimova entered this year’s US Open as the No. 10 seed in the women’s singles main draw. However, on the back of fourth-round and quarterfinal finishes in Toronto and Cincinnati, the 25-year-old home hope’s campaign in New York turned out to be rather disappointing.
While Anisimova produced a dominant first-round display against compatriot Ashlyn Krueger, she survived a second-round scare against Austrian teenager Lilli Tagger. The American’s campaign collapsed in the third round as another Austrian, Anastasia Potapova, defeated her in straight sets.
The 2025 finalist at Flushing Meadows went on to withdraw from the ongoing WTA 500 Singapore Tennis Open citing a left wrist injury. It remains to be seen if Anisimova recovers for the rest of this year’s Asian hard-court swing, which includes the WTA 1000 China Open in Beijing, where the American is the reigning champion.
