Bayern Munich were held 3-3 at Viking in the Champions League on Tuesday with the Norwegian champions equalising late through Herman Haugen after Michael Olise was sent off.
Bayern trailed 2-0 at halftime thanks to goals from Australian Gianni Stensness — a Central Coast product with two Socceroos caps — and Peter Christiansen.

Harry Kane seemed to have dragged Bayern to victory as he scored twice and set up another for a 3-2 lead, but Olise picked up two yellow cards in the space of a minute.
Viking made the most of their advantage with Haugen scoring in the final minute to snatch the Norwegian champions a shock draw against the German giants.
Olise’s red means he will miss next week’s blockbuster clash with English champions Arsenal in Munich.
Kane scored for the ninth straight Champions League match, equalling a club record set by Robert Lewandowski and drawing two behind the record of 11 set by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Just days after conceding the fastest goal in Bundesliga history in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Augsburg, Bayern were again behind early.
With just 72 seconds gone, Stensness headed in an outswinging corner to give the hosts a shock lead.

Bayern ramped up the pressure but could not break through, with Kane twice heading into the arms of Viking goalie Arild Ostbo.
Not content to absorb Bayern pressure and cling to a narrow lead, Viking launched a lightning-fast counter-attack and doubled their advantage with 38 minutes gone.
Top goalscorer Christiansen finished off a slick move to give Viking a 2-0 lead. Bayern were handed a lifeline when Konrad Laimer was felled in the box just after the break, bringing Kane to the spot.
After a stuttering run up, the 33-year-old guided the ball into the bottom right of the goal, past the fingertips of Ostbo.
On the hour, Kane lost his marker and heading in a Joshua Kimmich cross to lock up the scores.
Luis Diaz had an effort ruled out for offside just a minute later but the Colombian was the beneficiary of a Kane pass 10 minutes later.
Kane lofted a ball to Laimer, whose saved shot rebounded into Diaz’s path. The England captain appeared to have saved Bayern, until Olise was sent from the pitch. The France winger saw yellow for a foul and then picked up another for dissent, leaving Bayern a man down with 16 minutes left.
Viking pushed and Haugen scored in the 90th minute to help the hosts to a memorable draw.
ATLETICO DOWN CARRICK’S STRUGGLING MAN UNITED
Atletico Madrid eased to a 2-0 win over Manchester United in the Champions League on Tuesday to pile pressure on Red Devils coach Michael Carrick.
Pablo Barrios pounced inside the first minute for Diego Simeone’s side and after Leny Yoro’s 74th minute red card set United back further, Ademola Lookman added another for the hosts in Madrid.
Man United have made their worst domestic start in 40 years and this league phase defeat in the Spanish capital was another blow, with the team now winless in five games across all competitions.
Carrick handed Carlos Baleba his first start for the club since arriving from Brighton this summer, as well as pushing captain Bruno Fernandes out to the right side.
Atletico were without their skipper Koke, after the death of his mother, while coach Simeone selected Julian Alvarez from the off for the first time this season at the Metropolitano stadium, after he tried to force a departure this summer.
“Defend what we love,” Atletico fans ordered their supporters with a banner display before kick-off and the Rojiblancos were ahead after just 50 seconds.
Alex Baena found a way in behind United’s defence and cut the ball across for Barrios, with Ayden Heaven unable to keep the midfielder’s shot from crossing the line.
Bryan Mbuemo might have equalised for the visitors, nudging the ball through Cristian Romero’s legs but firing just wide.
Alejandro Grimaldo came inches away from extending Atletico’s lead with a free-kick which hit the angle between post and crossbar.
The hosts thought they had a second when Johnny Cardoso finished neatly from the edge of the box before half-time but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review showed the ball had struck Marcos Llorente’s hand during the build-up.
Alvarez, yet to score this season for Atletico, hit the post early in the second half.
United rallied and Fernandes’s lob drifted narrowly wide before the Portuguese playmaker hit the crossbar from the left of the box after a corner routine.
However the three-time European champions suffered a setback when defender Yoro was harshly dismissed after a VAR review for bringing down Canada striker Jonathan David as the last man.
“It wasn’t [a foul] for me. He goes down too easy. It’s not a foul,” Newcastle legend Alan Shearer said after the game.
Former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg agreed, saying: “That’s extremely soft. He puts his arm across, and the two players are fighting for position.
“I just think he goes down very, very easy. This has to be a clear and obvious error, and I don’t believe it is a clear and obvious error from the referee.
“The VAR is going to recommend that it’s a red card. Yes, it’s central but I just think it’s a coming together.”
It opened the door for Atletico to grab their second, with David foiled by goalkeeper Senne Lammens but London-born Nigeria international Lookman on hand to tuck home the rebound after 79 minutes.
Carrick withdrew playmaker Fernandes, looking ahead to the weekend visit to face rivals Leeds in the English top flight, where improvement is badly needed.
Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak saved from United substitute Matheus Cunha in the final stages but there was no way back for United.
Simeone’s side were able to claim their first points after an opening defeat at Liverpool.
ARSENAL CRUISE PAST LILLE INTO SHARE OF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE LEAD
Arsenal blew away Lille with a three-goal blitz in seven second-half minutes for a 3-0 win to extend their perfect start to the Champions League.
Jurrien Timber’s deft finish opened the floodgates just after the hour mark at the Emirates Stadium before Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka rounded off the scoring.
Victory takes Arsenal into a share of the lead at the top of the Champions League table alongside Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon.
Mikel Arteta was able to use the wealth of resources at his disposal as he made five changes to the side that beat Leeds 2-1 on Saturday.
But it was Lille boss Davide Ancelotti, son of Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti, who was the happier after a goalless first half.
The visitors even had the ball in the net but Ayase Ueda was flagged offside. Bruno Guimaraes came closest to breaking the deadlock for Arsenal before the break when he fired wide from close range and then saw a powerful shot from range parried by Berke Ozer.
The Gunners quickly went through the gears in the second period once Timber dinked the ball over Ozer from Noni Madueke’s pass.
Arteta had left arguably his three most potent attacking weapons on the bench and the introduction of Saka, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard made an immediate impact.
Saka’s low cross picked out Eze whose deflected shot flew into the top corner to end any doubt over the destiny of the three points.
The England winger then finished off an exquisite team move from Havertz’s cut-back for Arsenal’s third.
There were further cheers from the home fans when Olivier Giroud came on as a late substitute for Lille on his return to the club where he scored 105 goals in a six-year spell.
But Giroud could not conjure up another Emirates goal as Lille remain without a Champions League point after defeat to Real Betis on matchday one.
YAMAL STAYS COOL AT BOILING GALATASARAY TO LIFT BARCELONA TO VICTORY
Barcelona and Lamine Yamal rediscovered their sparkle after a rocky first-half spell in the cauldron of Istanbul’s Ali Sami Yen stadium to win 4-1 away to Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Halfway through the second round of matches, the victory lifted Barcelona to the top of the Champions League table with two wins. Galatasaray are pointless and near the foot of the standings.
Barcelona dominated the early stages. With Yamal vigorously policed on the right by the home defence, many of their attacks flowed through Anthony Gordon on the other flank.
Yet Galatasaray took the lead after 27 minutes. After Gordon went tumbling in the penalty box, the hosts launched a rapid counter-attack through Rafael Leao on the left.
He pulled the ball back to the edge of the area to Russian Aleksei Batrakov whose drive deflected off Joao Cancelo and into the corner of the goal.
That ignited a spell of furious home pressure which culminated with Victor Osimhen rising to head a corner past goalkeeper Joan Garcia. Baris Yilmaz toed the ball over the line but was ruled offside.
Barcelona reasserted control. When Yamal went down on the edge of the box, the ball broke to a surprised Davinson Sanchez who gave the ball away immediately. It fell to Dani Olmo who threaded a pass to Cancelo who scored.
At the start of the second half Yamal took over. After setting up Gordon, who spurned the chance, he helped put Barca ahead in the 50th minute, placing a gentle curled cross on the forehead of Fermin Lopez who nodded home.
Three minutes later, Yamal beat Eren Elmali three times, and in three different ways, in a tiny space before rolling a pass to Gordon in front of goal.
This time the England striker made no mistake with Elmali, a Turkey international, lifting his arms to the heavens in an expression of powerlessness.
After 65 minutes Yamal cut in from his wing and fired a pass to replacement centre forward Gabriel Jesus. The ex-Arsenal man could not control the ball but it deflected to Karim Adeyemi who drilled the ball home.
And three minutes later, Yamal should have got on the scoresheet himself but after being quickest to a loose ball he fired his shot over the bar.
The 19-year-old finished the game without a goal which would have taken him closer to Kylian Mbappe’s record for Champions League goals as a teenager, but Yamal, who became Barcelona’s youngest ever captain in the previous round, again took over the captain’s armband when Pedri was replaced.
