Mexico claims glory with first-ever Concacaf Nations League title

Concacaf is once again painted green, white, and red. A penalty sealed Mexico’s first-ever Concacaf Nations League title, with Raúl Jiménez emerging as the star of El Tri. His two goals were crucial in securing a 2-1 victory over Panama at SoFi Stadium, finally delivering the long-awaited championship.

The match was anything but easy for Mexico. Panama arrived determined to play aggressively and put El Tri under pressure. Javier Aguirre’s squad, however, capitalized on key moments to claim victory-16 years after his last international title with Mexico.

A tense battle in Los Angeles

Panama started stronger, creating early chances that tested Mexico’s defense. Adalberto Carrasquilla fired a powerful shot from outside the box, but Luis Malagón made a crucial save to keep the game level. The Mexican team struggled to find their rhythm, but a defensive mistake from Panama changed everything. Goalkeeper Orlando Mosquera misjudged a play, allowing Jiménez to head the ball into the net and ignite the crowd at SoFi Stadium.

Santi Giménez nearly doubled Mexico’s lead, breaking past Edgardo Fariña but narrowly missing the target. However, Panama responded with dangerous attacks, exposing Mexico’s defensive weaknesses. A well-placed cross by José Luis Rodríguez created a clear opportunity, but Edgardo Fariña failed to convert. Moments later, a long-range shot forced Malagon into another impressive save.

Panama’s persistence paid off when Johan Vasquez fouled Cecilio Waterman inside the box. After a VAR review, the referee awarded a penalty, which Carrasquilla confidently converted, leveling the match. With the momentum shifting, Mexico found itself struggling to regain control against Panama’s physical and organized defense.

    Jimenez delivers Mexico’s historic win

The tension inside SoFi Stadium reached its peak. With 68,000 fans-mostly Mexican supporters-watching anxiously, frustration led to moments of controversy, including offensive chants from the stands. Just as the game seemed destined for extra time, fate intervened. José Córdoba’s handball inside the box gave Mexico a lifeline. Jiménez stepped up once again, showing nerves of steel as he converted the penalty for his second goal of the night.

With that decisive strike, Mexico secured its long-awaited Nations League title, finally adding the missing trophy to its Concacaf collection. The victory not only ended El Tri’s frustration in the tournament but also reaffirmed Mexico’s dominance in the region.

  • Ole Miss star Jaxson Dart outshines Shedeur Sanders in shocking 2025 NFL Draft twist

Ole Miss star Jaxson Dart outshines Shedeur Sanders in shocking 2025 NFL Draft twist

Is Jaxson Dart on track to become one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft? Many analysts think so. The Ole Miss quarterback’s draft stock has risen steadily since the conclusion of the NCAA season, and his latest comments have propelled him even further, placing him ahead of Shedeur Sanders.

A disastrous performance under center once threatened Dart’s future as a top contender. The Rebels’ crushing loss to the Florida Gators in late November was a nightmare for the young quarterback. Three interceptions on consecutive drives seemed to mark an early end to his NFL dreams.

However, Dart bounced back with solid performances and strong numbers, prompting analysts to reconsider. A candid moment captured on video recently boosted his standing even further, elevating him into conversations alongside prospects like Cam Ward and Sanders.

Dart’s guide to blocking out the noise

In a promotional video for telecommunications company C Spire, the former Rebels QB delivered a clear message-not just to his critics, but to all 32 NFL teams: outside opinions have no impact on him.

When asked how he manages to tune out the noise of mainstream and social media, Dart explained, “It’s really important to safeguard yourself and limit negativity and distractions that don’t matter.”

He elaborated, “I’ve always focused on listening to those I love and those who genuinely care about me. The opinions of others don’t hold much weight in my life.” Dart emphasized, “I try to keep my circle tight and prioritize those voices above all.”

Dart vs. Sanders: Who comes out ahead?

While their stats indicate that Sanders and Dart are comparable, their personalities set them apart. Reports suggest Sanders is often perceived as “brash” and “arrogant,” whereas Dart has increasingly displayed maturity and focus both on and off the field.

Combined with detailed assessments of the two players, this contrast has led analysts to speculate that Dart could emerge as the second quarterback off the board in April’s draft, potentially edging out Sanders. Ultimately, their fate will depend on how teams evaluate their strengths-and Dart has delivered a compelling case for his potential.

  • IRS Stimulus Payment: Here are the taxpayers who cannot apply for this $1,400 check

IRS Stimulus Payment: Here are the taxpayers who cannot apply for this $1,400 check

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) determined last December to issue automatic payments to eligible taxpayers who did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 tax returns

This “payment” is a recovery rebate credit for those who did not receive one or more Economic Impact Payments, or stimulus payments, issued to most Americans during the covid-19 pandemic.

Weather forecast nightmare: Driver encounters lightning strike head-on on highway

How do I know if I am eligible?

It is important to note that the check is intended for those who in their return for the year in question were eligible for it, but left the Recovery Rebate Credit field blank or filled it in with ‘$0’.

If you are aware that you did not receive one or more economic impact payments, it is also very important to make it clear that you can still apply for the Refund Credit, even if you did not file your 2021 tax return. You just have to do it before April 15.

It is therefore clear that if you received Economic Impact Payments during the covid-19 pandemic or if you have already applied for and received a check for this concept, you are no longer eligible to receive the check, whose maximum amount can reach $1,400 dollars.

How do I receive my check and what do I have to do?

Such payments are sent automatically by the IRS to all those who meet the eligibility criteria, so no action is required. If you are eligible, you will be notified by regular mail by means of a letter in which the payment and the form of payment are detailed, either by deposit or check.

  • Caitlin Clark's star power pushes six WNBA teams to bigger arenas

Caitlin Clark's star power pushes six WNBA teams to bigger arenas

Caitlin Clark‘s arrival in the WNBA has been nothing short of a game-changer. The Indiana Fever‘s rookie sensation, drafted No. 1 in 2024, has sparked a surge in interest that’s rippling across the league. From shattering viewership records to packing arenas, her presence-dubbed the “Caitlin Clark Effect“-is rewriting the script for women’s basketball.

Case in point: six WNBA teams have already shifted at least one upcoming game against the Fever to larger venues for the 2025 season, all to handle the flood of fans eager to catch Clark in action.

You won’t believe it! Caitlin Clark reveals which celebrity she would like to invite to dinner

Clark’s rookie year was a whirlwind. She led the Fever to the playoffs, snagged Rookie of the Year, and turned heads with her deep threes and slick passes. But it’s not just her stats-4,134 NCAA points and a WNBA-leading 8.2 assists per game as a rookie-that have teams scrambling. It’s the crowds she draws. Last season, Fever games averaged 17,274 fans at home, a 319% jump from 2023, per Yahoo Sports.

On the road, her games smashed attendance records, with teams like the Las Vegas Aces and Washington Mystics moving matchups to NBA-sized arenas to fit everyone in. “She helps ticket sales,” Aces coach Becky Hammon quipped last year, and the numbers back it up-Clark’s games accounted for 33.5% of the league’s total attendance in 2024.

From small courts to big stages: Six teams move Fever games for Clark

Now, as the 2025 season looms, six teams-the Aces, Mystics, Atlanta Dream, Los Angeles Sparks, Dallas Wings, and one more yet to be named-aren’t taking chances. They’ve bumped Fever games from their usual digs to bigger spots like T-Mobile Arena (18,000 seats) and American Airlines Center (20,000 seats).

The Wings’ June 27 clash with Indiana, for instance, marks their first-ever WNBA game at the Mavericks’ home court. Why? Because Clark’s pull is undeniable. Her 2024 road games saw venues like State Farm Arena in Atlanta sell out 17,000 seats-up from the Dream’s typical 3,500.

This isn’t just about logistics-it’s a testament to Clark’s star power. “I’m a part of history,” Fever teammate Kelsey Mitchell said last June, marveling at the crowds. Teams are banking on her to keep filling seats, especially after the WNBA’s 2024 attendance hit 2.35 million, the highest in 22 years. For smaller-market squads, moving to larger venues isn’t just practical-it’s a chance to cash in on the buzz. Clark’s not just playing ball; she’s reshaping the league’s landscape, one sold-out arena at a time.

  • Jerry Jones' Draft plan: Boosting defense with a Top-50 prospect as Micah Parsons ally

Jerry Jones' Draft plan: Boosting defense with a Top-50 prospect as Micah Parsons ally

Dallas Cowboys fans, buckle up-things are getting juicy in Big D. Word around the campfire is that owner Jerry Jones has his sights set on a top-50 draft prospect to juice up new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus‘ unit. This buzz dropped just as the team’s navigating a whirlwind of updates-or lack thereof-on Micah Parsons‘ contract. With a 7-10 flop in 2024 and a defense that leaked 27.5 points per game, Jones is clearly itching to shake things up.

The draft chatter centers on South Carolina linebacker Demetrius Knight Jr., who turned heads at his Pro Day on March 19. At 6’2″ and 245 pounds, Knight’s a tackling machine-82 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and a clutch pick against Clemson in 2024.

He would leave! Micah Parsons admits that he would not be part of the Dallas Cowboys if this happens

Eberflus, rocking a poker face tighter than a new pair of boots, reportedly scoped him out personally. “Knight’s versatility? Think Micah Parsons Lite,” an insider mused, hinting he could blitz like a tornado and shore up a shaky D. With the Cowboys holding the No. 12 pick, Jones might just see Knight as the missing piece to get that 31st-ranked defense back in the saddle.

Meanwhile, the Micah Parsons contract saga is a rollercoaster. The All-Pro edge rusher, entering his fifth-year option at $24 million, is due for a mega extension-think $40 million a year after Myles Garrett’s Browns deal set the bar. “There’s definitely a plan in place,” Parsons said after a chat with Jones, per dallascowboys.com, keeping it vague but hopeful.

Jones targets Knight amid Parsons talks

Yet, his brother Terrence’s cryptic X post-“Micah was true to his word…“-has fans buzzing. Trade rumors? Extension delays? Stephen Jones isn’t helping, muttering, “The goal is to get it done when you can,” via ESPN. Classic Cowboys timing-slow as molasses until the clock’s ticking.

Jones isn’t just banking on Knight to save the day-he’s got faith in Eberflus too. The ex-Bears head coach brings a 4-3 scheme with “high energy” and “zero tolerance for not running to the ball,” Jones told Yahoo Sports. Pair that with Parsons’ 52.5 career sacks and Knight’s upside, and you’ve got a recipe for chaos-good chaos-for opposing QBs.

Fans on X are hyped, with one tweeting, “Knight and Parsons? That’s a scary front seven.” Whether Jones locks down Parsons or rolls the dice on this draft gem, the Cowboys’ offseason is shaping up to be a wild ride.

  • Shedeur Sanders gets expert advice on how to become a franchise quarterback in the short term

Shedeur Sanders gets expert advice on how to become a franchise quarterback in the short term

Expectations for Shedeur Sanders are slowly dropping, it’s no secret that he was “hit” as many claimed he would be one of the first picks in the NFL Draft.

While some believe Sanders will continue to fall down draft boards, others, including Louis Reddick, a former NFL scout, still see him as one of the first ten picks and a future franchise quarterback.

It ended! Shedeur Sanders tells the NFL that the football relationship he had with his dad is over

Reddick has a very strong opinion of Shedeur, whom he rates as an elite “franchise player.

He has no doubt that NFL teams should strive to draft him and devote resources to his development. He believes the team that drafts him should surround him with expert quarterback coaches who are responsible for honing his skills and teaching him everything he needs to be a leader at his position.

A project with Sanders at the helm

Louis Reddick has great faith in creating a project tailored to Shedeur, practically giving him the keys to the franchise. He believes he has what it takes to be the face of an NFL team, clearly the cornerstone as a franchise quarterback.

He even took the time to lay out a “plan” for NFL teams looking to sign him: “You have to recruit him, prepare a solid quarterback room for him to adjust and settle in his first year, and then watch him take off in his second year as the leader he promises to be”.

    ‘Arrogance’ is the biggest but

Known for his bold and often shocking personality, Deion Sanders justified his arrogance with exceptional talent. He passed these traits on to his children, raising them to be strong individuals full of conviction.

In general, confidence is applauded, but with Shedeur Sanders, the conservatives who run NFL franchises seem to see him as a challenge.

According to some sources, teams tend to be cautious about drafting a quarterback who expresses his thoughts unapologetically, or who demonstrates such confidence that he does not feel the need to speak constantly.

Franchises often have a fixed vision of what a quarterback should be, and when a player does not fit that mold, there is uncertainty about his ability.

We’ll see what his tremendous future holds, but some franchises are already having second thoughts. Of course, once he’s on the field, nothing can be questioned, and surely some NFL team has him on their wish list.

  • Meghan Markle could be sued for copyright infringement, as the name of her new podcast is the same as an existing one

Meghan Markle could be sued for copyright infringement, as the name of her new podcast is the same as an existing one

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, may be in the eye of the storm and in legal trouble. The actress is about to return to podcasting with her upcoming series, “Confessions of a Founder,” in partnership with Lemonada Media.

The eight-episode series, set to premiere on April 8, will feature candid conversations with successful entrepreneurs who offer insight into the challenges and rewards of creating a successful business.

Meghan Markle gets mocked over the way she uses pretzel bags which some consider reckless

The Duchess of Sussex shared the big news on Instagram, writing, “I’m so excited to share something else I’ve been working on: ‘Confessions of a Founder’, my new podcast with @lemonadamedia. I’ve been talking to incredible women who have made their dreams come true and turned small ideas into hugely successful businesses,” she wrote in part of the post.

The 43-year-old actress announced that the first episode of her new podcast will premiere on April 8.Meghan signed a deal with Lemonada Media in February 2024, after her previous podcast was canceled by Spotify in 2023. Her $20 million deal with the Spotify platform ended up being a fiasco.

“With Love, Meghan’ was not well received

Meghan produces “With Love, Meghan” for Netflix, about cooking and friendship, with Archewell and Sony. Directed by Michael Steed, it finally premiered on March 4th. The reaction was mixed, as it showed another side of the actress that came as no surprise to many.

If anyone thought that her new podcast would show a different side of her, it seems that Internet users are not very interested and are already accusing her of copyrighting her project, which will be launched in about a month’s time.

Even her new podcast is under attack

Yes, you read that right, it seems Meghan will have to win the affection of a certain sector as they are already criticizing her podcast and it is not even out yet.

The criticism is for supposed similarities to other existing podcasts, such as Spotify‘s Confessions of a CEO or a YouTube project by an influencer named Kady Mite.

“It doesn’t surprise me at all. She doesn’t have any original ideas, so why bother with her instead of going with the original?”

“How come Meghan keeps talking about feminism and supporting other women when all she does is STEAL other women’s work?”

“Founder? Founder of all failure, that’s what she is.”

These were some of the comments that could be read on social media. We’ll just have to wait a few weeks to give what she has to offer a chance. Meghan has promised the best of these conversations with women entrepreneurs.

Sal “Canelo” lvarez reveals he fasts for up to three days

Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez (62-2-2, 39 KO’s) has revealed one of his best-kept secrets related to his diet, a nutritional regimen that has kept him at the top as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world.

The Mexican fighter confessed that he fasts for more than a day, just as he was doing when interacting with Paulo Chavira, a content creator who visited his training camp.

Surprised! Canelo Alvarez was caught off guard with question about Nikola Jokic

    Canelo Álvarez’s confession

“The dinner is the one you have to eat well. Dinner is the tricky part, no carbs. No fats, a very light dinner,” Saúl Álvarez said in a video uploaded to Chavira’s social media. “Right now, I’ve been fasting for almost two days. Just water and black coffee. Tonight at 9, I’ll have completed two days. I haven’t eaten anything, just water. And I’m going to do three days, let it be 48 hours,” he added.

During the first press conference to promote his upcoming fight against William Scull in May, the Mexican boxer did an activity with a DAZN reporter who explained that Canelo had to “punch him” in the stomach every time he mentioned a boxer he thought was better than the Mexican.

Which boxers were mentioned and which ones caused Canelo to punch?

One of the boxers mentioned was Caleb Plant, who was defeated by the Mexican, making him the first absolute Mexican and Latin American champion in history at 168 pounds. Other names that were mentioned were Willian Scull, Edgar Berlanga, Bernard Hopkins, Julio César Chávez, Marvin Hagler, and Golovkin, but with no reaction from Canelo.

The boxer who caused the first punch

It wasn’t until Dmitry Bivol’s name came up that the boxer gave his first punch to the reporter, acknowledging that his opponent was better when they fought: “That night he was better than me.”

“Usyk? Roberto Durán? Floyd Mayweather?” were other names that made the reporter receive more punches. “At that time, they were better than me,” he replied.

Finally, the last boxer questioned was the great legend Muhammad Ali, which caused Canelo to give one last punch, showing that he considers Ali better than him, acknowledging him as one of the greats.

  • Aaron Rodgers learned a hard-to-swallow truth: Were Tom Brady's Raiders ever interested in signing him?

Aaron Rodgers learned a hard-to-swallow truth: Were Tom Brady's Raiders ever interested in signing him?

After long weeks of uncertainty, Aaron Rodgers’ fate was finally resolved… at least partially. With the hiring of Geno Smith, the Las Vegas Raiders closed their chapter around the former Super Bowl XLV champion but left open a disturbing question: Were they interested in Rodgers?

The Rodgers soap opera began with the end of the 2024 NFL regular season. First, it was unclear if the New York Jets were giving the 21-year veteran another chance. Then, the carousel of teams that might have a spot for him on their rosters began when the Jets announced they were moving on.

Along with the Giants, Vikings, Colts, and Steelers, the Raiders were among many teams rumored to have an interest in signing Rodgers. Las Vegas, however, only recently took themselves out of the equation by signing Smith, and not only that, an insider just revealed the bitter pill of truth that A-Rod will have to swallow.

Did Rodgers have a chance to sign with the Raiders?

While there was much talk about Las Vegas’ interest in bringing Rodgers to the franchise, Pro Football Talk insider Mike Florio just put the rumors to rest. Team sources told Florio that head coach Pete Carroll never considered the former Green Bay Packer.

Florio explained that while speaking to his source about Maxx Crosby’s contract, he also asked about Rodgers’ situation. “Only a day or two before signing the new contract, Crosby said he’d like Rodgers to join the Raiders,” Florio recalled asking the source. “So why aren’t the Raiders and Rodgers talking?”

The analyst was blunt when he recalled, “The source made it clear that the Raiders simply weren’t interested in Rodgers. The source then said, ‘I think Pete [Carroll] wants Geno Smith.’” Days later, the Raiders announced the acquisition of Smith from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a third-round pick.

    Will Rodgers go to Minnesota?

Last week, Rodgers hinted that he would like to continue living and playing in New York. With the Jets out of the equation, his only option would be the Giants; however, the team has not shown interest in signing the veteran. Rodgers’ most serious option, according to some analysts, would be the Minnesota Vikings.

At 41 years old and with the constant attention he receives from the media, almost always negative, A-Rod’s future is more uncertain than ever. With free agency starting on March 12, we will soon know if any team is willing to give the four-time MVP another chance or if he’ll be forced to hang up his cleats.
