Fans were seen cheering for Jemimah as she put on quite a show for the fans at the boundary line. Her side also got off to a winning start in the competition as Delhi Capitals won their first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to improve in upcoming games

Despite having a star-studded squad, Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a defeat in their first match of the WPL. The Smriti Mandhana led side showcased a subpar bowling performance as Delhi Capitals were able to notch up 223 runs on the scoreboard after the first innings and lost only two wickets in the process.

Skipper Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma were sensational for Delhi Capitals, as they scored 72 and 84 runs, respectively. Marizanne Kapp and Jemimah Rodrigues also played unbeaten knocks of 39 and 22 runs, respectively. The batting line-up of Delhi Capitals completely dominated their opponents.

Things did not improve for Royal Challengers Bangalore with the bat either. Skipper Smriti Mandhana helped the side get off to a good start, but she was dismissed at 35 by Alice Capsey. Ellyse Perry, Heather Knight, and Megan Schutt attempted to fight back, but it was not enough in the end.
