Hurricanes’ Logan Stankoven makes history by extending goal streak in win over Flyers

A big reason why the Carolina Hurricanes have yet to lose a game throughout this postseason, Logan Stankoven extended his goal streak on Saturday night.

In leading the Hurricanes to a 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, Stankoven added two more to his playoff tally, with the first goal of the game and then another one in the second period. And his first goal of the night instantly made some NHL history.

Logan Stankoven now owns a piece of NHL history

At only 23 years old and in his third postseason, Stankoven became the youngest player to ever score a goal in five-straight playoff games.

Before Carolina’s second-round series with Philadelphia got underway, Stankoven’s scoring touch helped the Hurricanes sweep the Ottawa Senators in the first round. Overall, through five playoff games, Stankoven has six goals, one assist and seven points.

His six goals already mark a new postseason high — he posted five in 15 games in the playoffs last year and three in 19 during Carolina’s 2024 playoff run to the Eastern Conference Final.
