Frankie Muniz will miss the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Watkins Glen International after a scheduling clash with his GT4 America program.
Team Reaume has kept Muniz in a full Truck Series seat this season, paired with a full GT4 America schedule alongside Tyler Stone for TechSport Racing. His debut in the series ended in a podium finish at Sonoma Raceway in March.
Thanks for the submission!
On Sunday, the team announced that the No. 33 full-time driver will stay on track in GT4 competition at Sebring International Raceway on Friday and pull out of the No. 33 entry for next weekend.
“Muniz will be on track in GT4 competition at Sebring International Raceway on Friday where he currently sits third in the championship standings. The event schedule overlaps with NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race weekend activities at Watkins Glen requiring him to step away from the No. 33 entry for this event. Further announcements for the No. 33 entry will be made in the coming days,” part of the team release read.
At Sebring, Muniz will return to the No. 30 TechSport Racing Ford Mustang GT4 alongside Tyler Stone. The pair is entered in the Am class, which will host Rounds 4 and 5 of the 2026 GT4 America season between May 7 and May 9.
Meanwhile, the 40-year-old ranks 22nd in the 2026 Truck Series standings after seven races and has yet to post a top 10 this year. His best finish this season was 16th at Daytona, and he finished in 23rd on Friday night at Texas Motor Speedway.
“Mesh of two worlds” – Reaume team owner calls Frankie Muniz’s ‘great personality’ great for NASCAR
Frankie Muniz returned to stock car racing with a full ARCA Menards Series season in 2023 with Rette Jones Racing after a long year’s gap. He finished fourth in the standings and then moved to part-time racing in the Truck Series and O’Reilly Auto Parts (Xfinity) Series the following year before landing his full-time Truck ride with Reaume Brothers Racing.
Muniz managed one top-10 finish across 21 races in 2025 and moved to Team Reaume this season. Team owner Josh Reaume told the New York Times that Muniz brings something different to NASCAR:
“Our sport really lacks personality, and he has a great personality. What’s so interesting with Frankie is the mesh of two worlds.”
Frankie Muniz also combined his two careers last month at Bristol Motor Speedway. The “Malcolm in the Middle” star ran a fan-favorite sky-blue No. 33 Ford F-150 during the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race to promote the four-episode revival of his TV show “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” which premiered on Hulu and Disney+ the same day as the race.
