Cristiano Ronaldo and his Al-Nassr teammates saw their winning run halted at 20 as they lost 3-1 to Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League. Their fans singled out midfielder Marcelo Brozovic for criticism over his showing in the encounter.
Al-Nassr were out for revenge against Al-Qadsiah, having lost the first meeting between both sides this season back in January. The Knights of Najd had to navigate the encounter without influential forward Sadio Mane, who, having missed the reverse fixture in January, was again absent for the clash.
Thanks for the submission!
Heading into the game, Jorge Jesus’ side needed two wins to be confirmed as Saudi Pro League champions but fell short during their visit to Al-Qadsiah, tasting defeat. The fans blamed Croatia international Marcelo Brozovic for the defeat, their first in the league since late January. A number of them took to X to share their thoughts on the former Inter Milan man.
One fan clearly blamed the veteran midfielder for all three goals conceded.
Another fan blamed him for costing his side the league title.
A fan hurled abuse at the 33-year-old and criticized Jorge Jesus as well as Kingsley Coman.
Another fan was critical of the Saudi players in the team and lumped in Brozovic with them in their criticism.
A fan described Brozovic as “horrible”, stating that he put out his worst-ever performance.
Marcelo Brozovic started in midfield alongside Abdullah Al-Khaibari and was on the pitch for the entirety of the game. The experienced midfielder provided an assist with his only big chance created and committed an error that led to a goal. He won only 25% of his duels during the game and was dispossessed thrice.
