As Team Kenya prepares for the CAA Africa Senior Athletics Championships in Accra, Ghana (12th–17th May 2026), the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK), in collaboration with Athletics Kenya (AK), conducted an important education session for all athletes.
The session focused on reinforcing the values of clean sport, athlete responsibility, and long-term health.
Assistant Team manager, Lt. Col. Albert Lagat, emphasized discipline and integrity:
“It is so shameful when we continue being in Class A due to doping issues. It is upon you athletes to ensure that whatever you take is in accordance with laid down procedures and not banned by the AIU.”
ADAK Official, also addressed the team, stressing the importance of compliance:
“It is very important to ensure your Whereabouts details are accurate and up to date, as this is one area that has caused sanctions for many athletes.”
Key Takeaways for Athletes:
- Compete clean for your country and your future health
- Always verify substances before use
- Keep Whereabouts details accurate and updated
- As Kenya heads to Accra, the message is clear:
- Performance must go hand in hand with integrity.
