Former Team India batter Robin Uthappa picked his all-time IPL 12 amid the ongoing 2026 edition (via his Instagram handle). While the side consisted of several legendary performers, Uthappa surprisingly included six overseas stars.
Chris Gayle and KL Rahul were the two openers, followed by Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina at No.3 and 4. Gayle has the highest-ever IPL score of 175 and finished his stellar career with almost 5,000 runs, including six centuries.
Meanwhile, Rahul continues to go strong in the IPL, having already amassed 5,690 runs at an average of over 46. Kohli is the IPL’s all-time leading run-scorer with over 9,000 runs, including an incredible eight centuries, while Raina is sixth with 5,528 runs.
Uthappa went for AB de Villiers and MS Dhoni at No.5 and 6, thanks to the duo’s sensational finishing abilities and versatility with the willow. While Dhoni is seventh all-time in IPL run-scoring, De Villiers is ninth, with 5,439 and 5,162 runs, respectively.
Uthappa rounded his top seven with current Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya, who has 2,895 runs and 82 wickets in his IPL career.
Robin Uthappa includes two overseas spinners in his final five
Robin Uthappa went overseas heavy with his spinners, including both Sunil Narine and Rashid Khan at No.8 and 9. Narine is one of only three bowlers with over 200 wickets in the IPL and is the only one with three MVP awards in league history.
On the other hand, Rashid is 10th all-time in IPL wickets with 173 at an average of under 24 and an economy of 7.17.
Uthappa picked IPL’s second-highest wicket-taker, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, as his 10th player, followed by Trent Boult at No.11. Finally, he included both Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah as the final members of his all-time IPL 12.
