Sean Strickland knows who he is going to fight next after his stunning win over Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328.
‘Tarzan’ reclaimed the middleweight title with a split decision win tonight. That came as quite a shock, as many believed Chimaev’s wrestling would demolish Strickland.
However, something seemed off with Chimaev after he shot for a takedown in the second round. Strickland did well in the second and the third rounds before Chimaev found his second win. ‘Tarzan’ did enough in the final round to get the win.
The new champion was speaking to the UFC 328 post-show panel and was asked about his future. ‘Tarzan’ revealed he hadn’t done much in the last six months and needed a break with his partner:

“Me and my girl have been in camp for over six months, and you guys know how camp is. We don’t do things on weekends, we don’t travel, we don’t go out to eat. She’s pretty much my dietician. I am going to give her a break.”
He also revealed who was next in line for the title, but he wanted to support Alex Pereira’s quest to become a three-division UFC champion:
“They say Nassourdine [Imavov] is next. I will take a little breather. I want to go support my boy Alex [Pereira] at the White House. I want to watch him make history and get that third belt.”
Strickland also confirmed he had suffered a broken nose in the fight against Chimaev:
“Give me a little time, let my broken nose heal, and let’s get back in there and get some fights going.”

Chimaev was unable to do a lot of wrestling after the second round. While no reason has been given for that, he ended up striking a lot more than expected.
‘Borz’ connected well with a few jabs and punches which left Strickland with a bloodied nose.
