The New York Mets are probably very tired of seeing Dansby Swanson.
Through three games of the Cubs four-game set with the Mets, Swanson has driven in 15 runs for Chicago, including 11 in the June 24 double-header. Sandwiched between two 4-RBI games was a seven-RBI, two-dinger performance on Wednesday afternoon.
The explosion is a good sign for Swanson’s offense, as his 7-for-12 stretch over those games raised his batting average just over the infamous “Mendoza Line,” of .200 with just 31 RBI and eight home runs coming into the series.
The Cubs will go for the four-game sweep over the last-place Mets on Thursday with first pitch at 7:10pm EST.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Swanson is one of 29 active players to reach the 100-hit milestone in at least eight different seasons. How many of those players can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
