Reason for Chad Gable’s WWE character change disclosed [REPORT]

Chad Gable’s character presentation in WWE has gone through a noticeable change. Apparently, there is a specific reason behind one of the changes to his entrance.

Gable has solidified his status as one of the most consistent names in the Stamford-based promotion. After his recent return from injury, Gable has turned over a new leaf and apologized to several luchadors, becoming a babyface in the process. His entrance has gone through changes as well, with a new song and clapping routine being added to get fans more engaged when he makes his appearance.

According to a recent report from Wrestlevotes on Fightful Select, Gable’s new entrance is related to his home state of Minnesota. The report claims that the change draws inspiration from Minnesota Vikings’ well-known “Skol” chant, notably seen in NFL games. Considering the fact that U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis will host WWE SummerSlam 2026, this could help Gable make a better connection with fans at the PLE.

AJ Styles has commented on Chad Gable’s push in WWE

Chad Gable’s popularity has shot up exponentially since his return from injury, and it appears that the Creative team is fully behind his rise.

Gable is expected to play a major role in this year’s SummerSlam. According to AJ Styles, his change in character has been really interesting to see so far. Speaking on his The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, he said:

“So we’ve seen Chad Gable come back. He gave Rey Mysterio his mask back and kind of saved both him and Penta. I thought it was really freaking cool. That’s where I want to see it go. I want to see Chad be a bigger star. He’s obviously a babyface based on the fact that he admitted that he’s not the El Grande Americano. He is not him anymore. I think it’s cool. I’m really excited about where this is going.” said AJ Styles.

As of now, Chad Gable has a lot of potential in the coming months. It remains to be seen what he does next in WWE and SummerSlam.
