Leeds United are not resting on their laurels and accepting that they will be in another scrap to just avoid relegation from the Premier League next season.
The Whites are being ambitious in the transfer market and showing that they want to take the next step in their top-flight journey, rather than setting the bar low.
Signing Harry Wilson, who scored ten goals in the division for Fulham last season, and paying £34m to sign Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo is evidence of that ambition.
The club are also pushing to sign Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford to be their new number one, after he won the League Cup and the FA Cup with the Cityzens last season.
Signing a new shot-stopper may not be the end of Daniel Farke‘s business for the summer, though, as another centre-forward could be on the cards, despite Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s impressive first year at Elland Road.

His return of 14 goals for Leeds was the first time that he had hit double figures for goals in the Premier League since he played for Carlo Ancelotti at Everton in the 20/21 campaign.
Four seasons without scoring more than seven goals in the Premier League in the last five seasons is a cause for concern for the Whites, as it shows that there is a possibility that he reverts to type and rarely scores next term.
There is also a world where the England international continues to thrive and shine in Farke’s team, as he has shown that he can be incredibly effective in a Leeds shirt in the top-flight.

Leeds eyeing striker who is even better than Calvert-Lewin
Farke and the recruitment team are already looking at possible additions to the squad in the number nine position, and they are eyeing a star who would be even better than Calvert-Lewin.
TEAMtalk reports that Leeds United are one of the teams interested in a deal to sign Club Brugge centre-forward Nicolo Tresoldi in the summer transfer window.
The outlet claims that the German striker is ‘firmly’ on the club’s radar as the 49ers plot a potential move for the attacker, who is also attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
It adds that he is ‘one to watch’ for Leeds in their pursuit of a new marksman this summer, whilst a report from GOAL earlier this month states that it will take a fee in excess of £30m to secure his services.
The 21-year-old attacker would be worth splashing the cash for in the coming weeks because his form in Belgium suggests that he would offer even more than Calvert-Lewin at the top end of the pitch.
Tresoldi, who has been described as a “Luis Suarez regen” by scout Jacek Kulig, racked up 23 goals in all competitions for Club Brugge in the 2025/26 campaign, whilst the English forward has never scored more than 21 goals in a season in his senior career.

The Leeds transfer target racked up an eye-catching 19 goals from 16.60 xG in the Pro League for his club, which shows that he can finish chances at an impressive rate.
He was far more clinical with his chances than Calvert-Lewin was in the 2025/26 campaign, as evidenced by their respective xG differential numbers, and that suggests that he would be a far more effective goalscorer for the Whites than the Englishman.
Whilst some supporters may question how the Pro League translates to the Premier League, Tresoldi also scored three goals and provided one assist in seven starts in the Champions League, scoring against Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Monaco.
The Germany U21 international has, therefore, already shown that he can deliver quality in front of goal against top European sides, which suggests that he would be able to make an impact against Premier League defences.
Tresoldi has the potential, given his form for Club Brugge domestically and in Europe, to be an even better striker option than Calvert-Lewin for Farke, as he could provide a greater threat as both a scorer and a creator of goals in the number nine position.
That is why the Whites should push to beat Spurs in the race for the German attacker in the coming weeks, even if it does take a fee in excess of £30m to secure his signature.
