With the clock ticking down to the start of the 2026 Tour de France Femmes, teams are finalising their rosters and the Movistar Team is preparing to rally behind Swiss leader Marlen Reusser as the race kicks off on her home soil in Lausanne.
Reusser, a two-time stage winner in the Tour de France, has had mixed fortunes in the race. She won stage 4 in 2022 but crashed out on the penultimate stage. In 2023, she won the time trial in Pau and finished 28th overall. The next year, illness and injury prevented her from starting, and in 2025 she was forced to withdraw after a crash on stage 1.
Reusser has had a much more successful 2026 season so far, winning the Tour de Suisse overall with two stage wins and the Dwars door Vlaanderen in April.

The return of the individual time trial to the Tour de France Femmes on stage 4 marks a significant goal for Reusser on a 21-kilometre test from Gevrey-Chambertin to Dijon.
Reusser will be supported by Sara Martín, Francesca Barale, Tota Magalhães, Liane Lippert, Arlenis Sierra and Paula Ostiz.
The Tour de France Femmes starts on Saturday in Lausanne and concludes in Nice on August 9.

The Dutch team Fenix-Premier Tech win the award for the most creative Tour de France Femmes team announcement, posting childhood photos of each of their seven riders with facts their younger selves did not know.

For Puck Pieterse, the team wrote, “She will become one of the most versatile riders on earth, but she didn’t know it back then” over a photo of a mud-spattered young Pieterse after a mountain bike race.
Yara Kastelijn and Charlotte Kool return as former Tour de France stage winners alongside Millie Couzens, Lotte Claes, Christina Schweinberger and Sara Casasola.

Picnic-PostNL looking for luck

The Picnic-PostNL team have had an unlucky season so far, with not a single victory by the women’s team and just one from the men in April. The Dutch outfit will be hoping to turn their season around in the Tour de France Femmes, where Eleonora Ciabocco will lead their GC hopes and Mia Griffin for the sprint stages, according to coach Callum Ferguson.
“The Tour de France Femmes has been one of our biggest goals and target races of the season, so we head into it filled with motivation,” Ferguson said in the team announcement.
“However, we’ve also had our fair share of bad luck this season so far and that’s influenced our preparations. Eleonora will be our GC finisher, but we will take it day-by-day with her and without pressure after the unlucky season she’s had.”
Ciabocco dropped out of the Vuelta Femenina after suffering fractures from a crash on stage 2.
“On paper, there look to be a few sprint stages, and we will go into them with Mia as our finisher. Overall, we will look to continue building on the good foundations we’ve been building and grab opportunities with two hands when they arise.”

Uno-X Mobility back Aalerud

Katrine Aalerud will lead Uno-X Mobility for the Tour de France Femmes with the aim of finishing in the top 10 overall. The Norwegian team will be without climber Mie Bjørndal Ottestad, who had to be withdrawn from the line-up after suffering a concussion in a training crash, according to the team announcement.
“We have a team that is fully committed to the team plan, that has put in the work, knows each others strengths and weaknesses and is ready to show what we are capable of,” Anna Badegruber, Head of Sport Women, said.
“Katrine is our leader for the GC, and top 10 is the goal. Next to the GC we want to play different cards and take our chances to go for stage opportunities.
“Several of the riders that we have in the Tour squad have already raced together throughout the other two Grand Tours and have build a strong bond and group. The line-up is balanced between early flat support, late and hilly support and last climbing support. This gives a good foundation for Katrine to be supported throughout the whole race.”

Cofidis with a mix of youth and experience

The Cofidis team have options for the climbs and sprints, with two newcomers to the race joining four more experienced riders.
The team boasts two former world champions, with 2016 elite winner Amalie Diderisken heading up the team’s sprinting ambitions, while 2023 junior world champion Julie Bego, racing her second Tour, focuses on the climbing stages.
Ema Comte, 21, heads into the race as a GC dark horse after finishing as the best young rider of the CIC-Tour Féminin des Pyrénées. She will make her Tour debut along with Malwina Mul.
