Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes has commemorated the Gunners’ 2025-26 Premier League triumph with a special tattoo. The Gunners won their first league title in 22 years last season.
After finishing runner-up in three consecutive seasons – twice to Manchester City – Mikel Arteta’s side came good at the fourth time of asking. The Gunners eventually finished seven points clear of second-placed City (78), ending a more than two-decade-long league title drought.

Gabriel, 28, was one of the key architects of the triumph, making his mark at both ends of the park. He scored thrice and assisted four times and helped keep 17 clean sheets in 32 games, starting 30. In 15 of those 17 occasions when Arteta’s side kept a league clean sheet, Frenchman William Saliba partnered Gabriel in central defence.
Most recently, the Brazilian was in action at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico, where the Selecao’s campaign ended in the Round of 16 following a 2-1 defeat to Norway. It marked the record five-time winners’ earliest World Cup exit since a 1-0 loss to holders Argentina in the Round of 16 at Italia’ 90.
Back at his club for the new season, Gabriel has celebrated his side’s league title last season with a tattoo on his arm, as tweeted by Football on TNT Sports:
The tattoo has the Premier League trophy and ‘2026’ – the year of the Gunners’ title triumph – written.
What’s next for Arsenal?
Arsenal have had a productive pre-season as they prepare for their Premier League title defence. The Gunners commenced with a 4-1 win over Girona at the Estadio Montilivi on Saturday (August 1).
Four players found the back of the net, including teenaged attacker Max Dowman. However, Mikel Arteta’s side suffered a setback in their next outing, losing 3-1 to Real Betis in Dublin on Wednesday, with Piero Hincapie bagging a consolation.
They will look to return to winning ways when they take on Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund on Sunday (August 9). Following another clash with Como on August 12, the Gunners kick off the new season against Manchester City four days later in the FA Community shield. On August 21, they travel to promoted Coventry City for their first league game.
