Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are reportedly preparing to open negotiations to sign Galatasaray forward Baris Alper Yilmaz, as per Turkish outlet Turkiye Gazeti.
After moving to Rams Park Stadyumu back in 2021, the 26-year-old initially took time to settle into his new surroundings before establishing himself as a regular starter.
He showed glimpses of his qualities during the 2024/25 campaign, making 19 goal contributions in 44 appearances across all competitions. Last season, he displayed his productivity once again, scoring 10 goals and registering 12 assists in all tournaments.
Yilmaz has even enjoyed great success at Galatasaray, winning four Super Lig titles and a couple of domestic cup competitions over the past few years. Having proven his worth in club football, the forward has secured his place in the Turkiye squad.
Now, Turkiye Gazeti report that after being impressed by Yilmaz’s recent promising performances, Everton and Tottenham are interested in signing him.
Spurs even made contact earlier to learn the details of a potential deal, but they and Everton are now preparing to open negotiations over his transfer.
With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2028, Galatasaray are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they are forced to cash-in and want around £43m.

The report state that Cimbom are planning to generate funds by selling Yilmaz to sign AC Milan star Rafael Leao, while Yilmaz’s dream is to play in the Premier League.
The Galatasaray star is a versatile forward as he is comfortable playing anywhere across the frontline. He is quick, strong, can hold up the play, and works extremely hard without possession.
Yilmaz is a talented player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. Therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham or Everton should either club purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club or the Merseyside club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services before the start of next season.
Meanwhile, Tottenham currently have Richarlison and Dominic Solanke as options for the CF role. On the other hand, Thierno Barry and Beto are Everton’s striker options.
