Despite not winning yet this year, Christopher Bell is dangerous NASCAR title threat

Don’t look now, but Christopher Bell has arrived to the fight for the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series championship.

No, Bell hasn’t visited victory lane yet this season. He’s currently in the midst of a 30-race winless streak had has finished runner-up a whopping seven times this season, including in Sunday’s race at Iowa.

What Bell has done, however, is consistently have speed, even if that pace is yet to translate into a win.

After a slow start to the 2026 campaign, Bell has turned up the wick over the summer. He has seven top fives over the last 11 races and five over the last six. In four of the last five races, Bell has finished second.

As agonizing as that stat must be for the No. 20 team, it shows that they’ve consistently been putting themselves in a position to win. That elusive victory seems to be coming for Bell.
