New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte addressed his uncertain future in Foxborough as trade rumors continue to swirl around the crowded receiver room. He is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is set to have a reduced role behind A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs.
Boutte was asked on Sunday whether he sees his current reps as an opportunity to impress other NFL teams.
Thanks for the submission!
“I mean, yeah. Every team pretty much watches,” Boutte said. “They watch film. I wouldn’t say practice film, but I mean they watch the game film. You see. Even preseason. Really, all 32 teams watching. Not just the team you play for… Everybody watching.”

Boutte’s situation took a major turn after the Patriots acquired Brown and Doubs. His production is expected to take a massive hit as he will now compete for rotational snaps alongside the likes of Pop Douglas and Mack Hollins.
Boutte is coming off a solid 2025 campaign where he caught 33 passes for 551 yards and 6 touchdowns. The WR requested a trade in April after New England’s aggressive offseason overhaul of its receiving corps.
New England explored trade options but held onto him after failing to receive a desired offer. Despite the unfulfilled request, Kayshon Boutte reported to camp without any drama. He seems open to a trade if a team makes an offer before Week 1.
Kayshon Boutte opens up about A.J. Brown altercation
The New England Patriots added veteran wide receiver A.J. Brown to their receiving corps this offseason. The Pro Bowl pass catcher was involved in a heated exchange with Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez during Thursday’s practice. Teammates reportedly stepped in to separate the two players.
Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte was among those who intervened, pulling Brown away from the confrontation before things escalated.
“I was just trying to pull A.J. out (of the scuffle),” Boutte said. “On to the next. I heard him I heard him say something about you’re a grown man’, I just let it go before it got too far.”
Brown’s arrival has also created uncertainty surrounding Boutte’s role and future in New England. The fourth-year WR also addressed the situation.
“It’s whatever’s best for me,” Boutte said. “Like I said, whether it’s here or somewhere else, I gotta do what’s best for me. I can’t really say it today, you kinda gotta see how things play out.”
Kayshon Boutte added that he does not consider himself someone who can predict the future. He has left his situation with the Patriots open-ended as training camp continues.
