The time trials are done, the rainbow jerseys have been handed out, and the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal now turn to the road races.
The Elite Women race is on Saturday, September 26, followed by the Elite Men on Sunday, September 27. Both races roll out at 9:00 a.m. Eastern, with live coverage beginning shortly before the start.

How to Watch Road Worlds in the USA
In the United States, FloBikes has the 2026 UCI Road World Championships.
Saturday’s Elite Women broadcast begins at 8:50 a.m. ET, with the race starting at 9:00 a.m. Sunday’s Elite Men coverage also starts at 8:50 a.m. ET, ahead of the 9:00 a.m. race start. Replays will also be available for subscribers.

Watching Outside the USA
Plenty of options are available outside the United States. In Canada, CBC and TVA carry it. UK viewers can find coverage through BBC and TNT Sports, while Eurosport, HBO Max, and Discovery+ carry the championships across much of Europe.

Will Remco Go From TT to Road Victories?
Remco Evenepoel already has one rainbow jersey from Montréal after winning the Elite Men’s individual time trial. Now he turns his attention to Sunday’s road race and another shot at the rainbow bands.
Will he succeed? Maybe, with Pogacar out of the race, he has one less hurdle, but there is a long line of highly motivated riders ready to take those stripes.
If Remco Evenepoel wins Sunday’s road race, however, he’ll make history. Only Jeannie Longo (1995) and Anna van der Breggen (2020) have won the elite time trial and road race world titles in the same year, and no elite man has ever pulled off the double.
Borghini Or Vollering?
The Women’s Elite race will be another wild one with Demi Vollering as the clear favorite. But the 2026 Tour de France Femmes winner has some very compelling competition. Elisa Longo Borghini, Kim Le Court, Lotte Kopecky, and newly crowned TT World Champion Marlen Reusser are among the biggest threats. Unlike a stage race, Worlds will be more like a one-day classic, filled with lots of attacks and lots of attrition.
How about the course? The Montréal Worlds course is more Ardennes Classic than mountain stage. Short, punchy climbs around Mount Royal pile up over repeated laps, with gradients topping 11% and very little time to recover between efforts. It’s hard enough to eliminate the pure sprinters, but open enough for powerful Classics riders, climbers, and aggressive racers to all have a shot.
Set the coffee maker accordingly. Sunday is going to be a long one.
