Tottenham Hotspur are now eyeing a January move for a striker, after looking poor in front of goal during the opening stages of the Premier League season.
ENIC opted to spend big during the summer transfer window, and made a number of high-profile additions to their forward line, including Mykhaylo Mudryk, Savio and Omar Marmoush.
However, Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Roberto De Zerbi‘s attacking options leave a lot to be desired, saying after the 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest: “Savio, 31 appearances in the Premier League and Champions League last season, one goal and two assists.
“Marmoush, three goals in 29 appearances in the Premier League and Champions League last season. Don’t get me started on [Mathys] Tel after that free-kick. They haven’t got the quality. “It’s alright spending this big money on Manchester City rejects who aren’t goalscorers, what do you expect?”
The centre-forward area may be particularly concerning for De Zerbi, with Dominic Solanke failing to score in his opening five Premier League matches this season, whereas Richarlison has been looking to leave the club.

With Spurs sitting bottom of the Premier League table heading into the international break, after finishing 17th in each of the last two seasons, it may be a savvy move to sign a new striker this winter, and a Bundesliga star has now entered their thinking.
Tottenham eyeing January move for Igor Matanovic
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, in a report from GiveMeSport, Tottenham are now plotting a January move for SC Freiburg striker Igor Matanovic, having looked at signing the Croatian during the summer.
Jacobs said: “Tottenham are prepared to add another striker mid-season in the winter market if goals continue to dry up. Richarlison doesn’t appear to have a future at the football club, Roberto De Zerbi has been clear on his position there, and even though Marmoush has arrived, Igor Mantanovic and Tottenham could be one to watch, and as I exclusively revealed over the summer, Spurs and Manchester United both appreciate the player.”
“He’s big, he’s tall, he’s a target man, he’s a little bit of a different profile to the kind of striker that Tottenham have already got, and yet there’s no guarantee anything is going to be possible here mid-season.”
The 23-year-old has made a flying start to the season for Freiburg, scoring six goals in seven matches across all competitions, while also grabbing two assists, and he has been lauded for his “fantastic physical prowess” by scout Jacek Kulig.
Having bagged 21 goals and six assists in 57 matches for Freiburg, the 12-cap Croatia international may now be ready for a move to the Premier League, and he could be the man to save Tottenham’s season.
