FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Methodist University women’s continued conference action with a primetime USA South matchup against Meredith College, coming away with the victory late off a PK goal by senior Allye Carter, 1-0 inside Duggins Soccer Stadium on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- An evenly-matched first half would ensue with only five shots attempted by the Monarchs in the first 45 minutes of play. Senior Emily Hoyt and sophomore Kat Cardiff’s attempts at the net fell close to cashing in, each collecting a shot on goal in the first stanza.
- Sadie Jones for Meredith would collide with Hoyt in attempting to make a defensive stop, leading to senior Allye Carter to dial up a penalty kick goal for the Monarchs, driving Methodist to take a 1-0 lead in the 66th minute of the match.
- The Avenging Angels would send four more shots towards freshman Kiera Ferguson in the closing minutes. Ferguson would be on point in the closing moments of the contests, collecting two saves in the final 24 minutes for her second shutout of the season and her collegiate career.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The PK goal by senior Allye Carter in the 66th minute would become her fourth goal of the season and her second PK goal of 2026.
