Fast Gear for Fast Miles: rabbit’s Chicago Race Kit Is Built for the City’s Biggest Running Day – Chicago Athlete Magazine

Chicago runners know that race day demands more than ordinary gear. From the early-morning chill in Grant Park to the roar through Boystown, Pilsen, Chinatown, and back down Michigan Avenue, every mile asks athletes to stay composed, fueled, cool, and confident. rabbit’s Chicago Race Kit answers that call with apparel designed for speed, endurance, and the kind of focused grit that defines this city’s running community. The collection is more than race merchandise; it is performance gear built to help Chicago runners chase big goals on one of the world’s most iconic marathon stages.

    Women’s Crusher Pocket Crop Chicago.

The Women’s Crusher Pocket Crop Chicago is made for runners who want one less thing to think about when the pace gets honest. With a built-in sports bra, a cropped race-ready fit, and front nutrition pockets, it keeps fuel close without adding bulk. Its cooling, quick-drying fabric and racerback design support free movement through crowded turns, exposed straightaways, and late-race surges. For Chicago athletes trying to stay locked in from State Street to the finish line, this crop brings a smart mix of coverage, storage, and speed.

Men’s and Women’s Go Time Chicago.

The Go Time Chicago pieces bring rabbit’s lightweight racing feel to runners who want a singlet-style top that disappears once the watch starts. Built for hard efforts and hot moments, these tops are the kind of race-day layer that lets the runner, not the shirt, do the talking. The Chicago-specific design gives the kit a hometown connection while the performance construction keeps the focus on cadence, breathing, and getting to the next mile marker with purpose.

Men’s Fuel n Fly 5 Inch Chicago and Women’s Fuel n Fly 4 Inch Chicago.

The Fuel n Fly shorts are exactly what marathoners need when efficiency matters. The men’s 5-inch and women’s 4-inch versions balance race-ready coverage with a fast, unrestricted feel, giving runners room to move without distraction. Designed with storage in mind, they help keep nutrition handy so athletes can stay on top of their fueling plan without breaking rhythm. On a course where small decisions compound over 26.2 miles, the right shorts can help runners stay smooth, prepared, and ready to respond when the effort rises.

Men’s and Women’s Off the Track Tee SS Chicago.

The Off the Track Tee SS Chicago gives runners a versatile piece for shakeout miles, expo days, post-race celebrations, and everyday reminders of the work it took to get here. Soft, easy, and rooted in the same running culture as the race kit, it bridges performance and lifestyle in a way that feels natural for Chicago athletes. Whether worn on a recovery walk along the lakefront or layered after the finish, it carries the spirit of race week beyond the course.

rabbit marathon gear for race day.

Across the marathon collection, rabbit’s strength is its commitment to gear that helps runners stay fast, focused, and prepared. Race day apparel has to manage heat, sweat, movement, storage, and nerves all at once. rabbit approaches those demands with lightweight fabrics, thoughtful pockets, streamlined fits, and pieces designed by people who understand what runners need when the miles get real. For Chicago marathoners, that means clothing that supports the goal rather than competing with it: fuel where you need it, ventilation when the city heats up, and a fit that lets you keep moving forward.

That approach is true to rabbit’s origin story. The company was founded by Monica DeVreese and Jill Deering, two lifelong runners who believed running apparel could be better: simpler, more functional, more comfortable, and made specifically for the people putting in the miles. What began as a “crazy idea” to make better running clothes became a brand centered on runners and dreamers, a fitting connection to Chicago athletes who train through wind, dark mornings, lakefront weather swings, and months of work for one powerful day. In racing, a rabbit sets the pace for others; in Chicago, rabbit is doing just that by helping runners pursue personal bests, first finishes, comeback races, and every gritty goal in between.
