Last Update on: April 20th, 2023 at 10:03 am

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen slammed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul’s approach in the powerplay in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Kevin Pietersen’s statement came during the match between the Lucknow and the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Wednesday, April 19.

KL Rahul scored just 19 runs off 19 balls during the powerplay against the Rajasthan Royals. The right-handed batter survived twice in six overs, his catches being dropped by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jason Holder, respectively. Kevin Pietersen, who was part of the commentary panel for the match, was frustrated by KL Rahul’s lack of aggression with the bat. The former England skipper said that it was boring to watch Rahul’s batting in the first six overs.

“Watching KL Rahul bat in powerplays is the most boring thing I have ever been through,” Kevin Pietersen said.
