    Man United star ready to snub big move away to see out contract at Old Trafford

    Casemiro is keen to remain at Manchester United for the remainder of his contract, talkSPORT understands.

    It comes after the 33-year-old established himself as a key man following Ruben Amorim‘s arrival as manager.

    Casemiro‘s current United deal is set to expire at the end of next season.

    However, the club do hold the option to extend his contract by a further year through to the summer of 2027.

    Despite that, it is currently unclear if the Red Devils will offer Casemiro an extension beyond his existing terms.

    Clubs in the USA and Saudi Arabia have previously been linked with moves for the former Real Madrid man.

    Since Amorim took over in November, Casemiro has made 23 appearances across all competitions.

    His performances have also helped United reach the final of the Europa League.

    It presents Casemiro with the opportunity to add another trophy to his glittering career.

    Speaking in the matchday programme before their semi-final second leg against Athletic Bilbao, he explained: “I have won what I have won.

    “But I always want more. I always want to earn it, to win, that is the winning mentality.

    “People only see the 90 minutes, I always say, ‘The matches are the reflection of what you do every day’ and that is me – always working.

    “Whether I play or don’t play, I am there every day. That is me as a person, that is me. Whether I play or not – all I want is for United to win.

    “If United win, I am winning. The most important is that United win. It is not about me winning or another player winning, it is about United winning.

    “I want to help in any way I can, I will be there. This is my mentality. That is why I have won what I have won in my career.”

    United saw off their Spanish opponents 4-1 at home on Thursday to seal a 7-1 aggregate victory.

    Amorim’s side will now face Tottenham in the final at the San Mames in Bilbao on May 21.

    A victory over Spurs would seal Casemiro’s third trophy since joining from Real Madrid in 2022.

    As well as lifting the FA Cup and Carabao Cup with United, he has also made 122 appearances, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists from midfield.
