Chennai Super Kings (CSK) recently lodged an official complaint with the Board of Control for Cricket in India over inappropriate stadium conduct. The franchise alleged that they felt insulted after a stadium entertainer played stereotypical music and made remarks about their players during a high-profile match.

CSK Raise Complaint Over Stadium DJ Song Incident
According to a report in The Indian Express, Chennai Super Kings raised concerns after a stadium DJ played the song “Dosa, idli, sambar, chutney, chutney” during their recent match.
The track, created by Gana Appu, is often used in social media memes linked to South Indian stereotypes. CSK felt the timing and context of playing the song during the game were inappropriate.
An IPL official confirmed that the governing council has received the complaint and is reviewing the matter. The franchise took the issue seriously, stating it crossed acceptable limits in a professional match environment.
The song had earlier gone viral when Jitesh Sharma was seen singing it, which led to trolling from CSK fans. At that time, CSK had stepped in to ensure such remarks were not directed at opposition players.

Chennai Super Kings managing director Kasi Viswanathan criticized the unprofessional conduct displayed by the stadium entertainer. Viswanathan expressed strong disappointment over the nature of the targeted stadium commentary.
“The DJs are usually there to support the home team. But at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, it was different. Certain comments were made against our players. Considering that, we have written to the BCCI to look into it,” he said.
“After that incident, there hadn’t been any repeat. The DJ isn’t supposed to make comments on opposition players. Moreover, we are fortunate to have a lovely fanbase that supports us in large numbers,” he added.
RCB Crushed CSK By 43 Runs at Chinnaswamy Stadium
Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a strong 43-run win over Chennai Super Kings in Match 11 of IPL 2026 on April 5 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
RCB posted a massive total of 250/3 after being asked to bat first. Tim David led the charge with 70 off 25 balls, while Devdutt Padikkal scored 50. Rajat Patidar and Philip Salt added 48 runs each, as the batting unit dominated and put CSK bowlers under pressure.
In reply, CSK were bowled out for 207 in 19.4 overs despite some fight. Sarfaraz Khan scored 50, while Prashant Veer made 43 and Jamie Overton added 37. However, the target was too big, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up three wickets that helped RCB seal the win.
