In our species tier list for Voidling Bound, we are ranking some of the best mutations that can help you through the game. Much like in Spore or even Palworld, there aren’t any truly bad species in Voidling Bound. However, some of these species do stand out as better options for combat and general moment-to-moment gameplay.
In this list, we will be ranking some of the best species in Voidling Bound and how they affect combat.
Best species tier list in Voidling Bound

To keep the list simple and to the point, we’re focusing exclusively on the base species, not on random mutations. This will give new players a base to create their own team of creatures, without having to rely on RNG to get the best possible mutations.
That said, as with any creature collector, do not hesitate to experiment with different species. Certain mutations can often give you a substantial edge in combat.
With that said, here’s a tier list of the best species in Voidling Bound:
S tier

- Nimiod: Nimiod is easily one of, if not the best, species in Voidling Bound simply due to its primary and secondary abilities. The primary ability, Proximity Spark, allows you to attack enemies without perfect aim. Whereas the secondary ability, Network Extender, summons pylons that attack alongside you while also replenishing your stamina. Nimiod also has Blink Protocol, which essentially grants you temporary invincibility while also allowing you to reposition.
- Morfang: If you’re looking for an aggressive species that can easily wipe enemies from the battlefield with nothing more than brute strength, Morfang is the option you want to pick. It’s not as technical as Nimiod, but it doesn’t need to be. Morfang and its mutations (pyro) can easily decimate enemies with melee attacks.
A tier

- Packuran: Packuran is essentially the “summoner” class of Voidling Bound. It uses radiation attacks with its primary abilities and can also summon hatchlings to aid you in battle. While it’s not as powerful as Nimiod or Morfang, the Packuran still packs a mighty punch and can easily overwhelm enemies.
- Ur-Sek: Ur-Sek is one of the most unique species in the game, as it offers you two completely different forms (playstyles) within a single creature. Ur, the bigger form of the species, relies on brute force and strength. Whereas Sek is a more nimble and agile form.
B tier

- Anami: If you’re looking for an agile species that can attack enemies from a range, Anami is a pretty good choice. While not as powerful as the S and A-tier creatures, Anami is incredibly agile, coupled with its homing attacks, which makes for a really good option for crowd control.
- Gwigoon: Much like Packuran, the Gwigoon relies on summons to overwhelm the enemies. However, instead of summoning hatchlings and attacking enemies with radiation attacks, Gwigoon summons its own copies. The only reason it’s not in A tier is that it deals very little damage with its attacks.
C tier

- Kerapin: Kerapin is a slow tank that relies on ranged attacks to overwhelm enemies. While it’s not a bad species per se, it certainly pales in comparison to the likes of Anami and Ur-Sek. Kerapin does not do a lot of damage; instead, it’s best used for a more defensive playstyle.
- Kwipek: Kwipek is the starter species in Voidling Bound. And while it’s not bad, it certainly isn’t nearly as good as the species you get to unlock later in the game.
