“Nick Sirianni saw him as a threat”: NFL fans react as Jalen Hurts trains with former Eagles and Tom Brady’s QB coach

Jalen Hurts is putting in the work with a familiar face ahead of the 2026 season. According to Zach Berman, the perennial Pro Bowler is training with Eagles QBs coach Scot Loeffler.

    NFL fans reacted on X.

A fan said, “Now I see why Sirianni ain’t fire Patullo and promote Loeffler, he was the most experienced coach on the offense. He saw him as a threat.”

Another added, “Maybe KP is the person Jalen didn’t trust because he’s incompetent.”

One wrote, “If Hurts likes working with him, why didn’t they just keep him as quarterbacks coach? The new offense coordinator did not bring a new one in, Sirianni just gave an old pal of his who had been passing the game coordinator the job.”

    Some weren’t as optimistic.

One said, “That’s good. Get as many different people as possible to help him. Confuse him a little more. Too Many cooks in the kitchen.”

Another added, “so ur telling me the fans who said halfway thru last season to fire patullo and promote scot to OC for rest of the year were right? i mean jalen is showing us RIGHT NOW he’s comfortable working with him….”

One chipped in, saying, “Jalen the biggest troll. Tell him he can’t be coached and he goes and works out with the fired QB coach. Lmao 😂”

Scot Loeffler is one of the most respected quarterback coaches in the game. He started out as the Central Michigan Chippewas’ QB coach in 2000, holding the position until 2001. Next up was a productive stint with his alma mater, the Michigan Wolverines.

Loeffler’s first stint in the NFL was with the Detroit Lions in 2008. He then returned to the collegiate scene, enjoying stints with Florida, Temple, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Bowling Green.

Loeffler worked with Hurts during his one-year tenure as the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback coach for the 2025 season. He’s now a free agent during the offseason.

Loeffler is credited with his work with Tom Brady during his time as a student and graduate assistant at Michigan. Hurts will hope that he’ll enjoy a boost in production after seeking mentorship from the QB guru.

Jalen Hurts is gearing up for a make-or-break 2026 season

ESPN’s Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler released a bombshell article about friction between the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts, who stands at a crossroads. The report came months after the Eagles were unceremoniously eliminated from the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers in the wildcard round.

Jalen Hurts has led the Eagles to two Super Bowl games. He lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. He then got redemption, putting up an MVP performance against the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

However, Hurts endured a tricky 2025 season, filled with drama and rumors of locker-room friction. He’s now set for one of the most important seasons of his professional football career.

Jalen Hurts is putting in the work with Scot Loeffler while maintaining peak conditioning in that offseason. Many eyes will be on the one-time Super Bowl MVP in the coming seasons.
