Detroit-based rapper Allstar Jr has reportedly been arrested for his alleged involvement in fellow rapper NBA Ben10’s shooting. The rapper was one of the two critically injured victims in the April 8 shooting in Houston, Texas.
According to the latest reports via TrapmaticTV, Allstar Jr has been arrested for alleged involvement in the shooting that left NBA Ben10 in critical condition. The rapper was reportedly on his way to do an interview with VladTV when the federal police took him into custody.
The arrest comes after a longstanding beef between Allstar Jr and NBA Ben10, which was ongoing at the time of the shooting. Ben10, originally named Ben Anthony Fields, was shot on Wednesday, April 8, at the Confessions restaurant in Houston.
There was an alleged chain-snatching incident that led to gunfiring at the restaurant, where two unidentified men tried to snatch a chain from another person. It is unclear whether Fields was involved in any of the incidents or was the person to snatch the chain or have his chain snatched.
However, the rapper’s family confirmed that he was one of the two critically injured people at the venue, who were transported to a local hospital. Latest reports suggest he is currently stable and recovering.
Allstar Jr fired shots at NBA Ben10 after his shooting earlier this month
Shortly after NBA Ben10 was shot earlier this month, Allstar Jr took to social media to taunt the rapper. He shared an Instagram post featuring images of himself at a jewellery store. In the caption, as seen in a screenshot shared by DJ Akademiks, he wrote:
“Had To Shoot To The D And Get New Ice Cuz My Mans Ben 10 Took Some Of My Stuff To The Hospital With Him. JRClosedTheElevatorOnRon #OG3LeftThemN****s #AllThatPlaying.”
The cryptic caption appeared to hint at his alleged involvement in NBA Ben10’s shooting, although there is no official confirmation for the same as of writing. In his post, the Detroit rapper also introduced the “Ben 10 challenge”, urging his followers to pretend they have been shot, lie on the floor and share images and videos of themselves doing it. He offered $20K to the one filming the best video.
Further, Allstar Jr also shared alleged screenshots of his conversations with NBA Ben10 after the shooting. In the messages, the former asked:
“U wipe that spit off yo p***y a** face ? How it feel that everybody left your bum b*tch a** to die ? N**** u ain’t cut u a bum a** do boy.”
Further, Allstar Jr also dropped a new single days after the shooting on April 13, where he appeared to directly address the incident. In the song, titled Expensive Wrist Watch, he rapped:
“Had to shoot to the D and get new ice cuz my mans Ben 10 took some of my stuff to the hospital with him.”
Shortly after the shooting, Houston’s Lieutenant R. Wilkens shared details about the extent of the injuries for both individuals under hospital care. He said:
“One been shot multiple times in the torso — probably in his late twenties. Another one’s been shot in the extremities, in the lower extremities, and also all throughout his arms and everything, several times — he’s probably in his mid-twenties. They’re both transported to local hospitals right now, and they’re both in very critical conditions.”
Speaking further of the incident, he added:
“We don’t know if they knew him or what that was, but it appears possible they knew this guy. Right after that, another fella jumps in, and several other people jump in as well, along with these other guys, and they start having a fist fight.”
“Sometime during that part of the fight, the victim, who originally looked like he was being majorly assaulted by several people and getting his chains ripped off, he presents a pistol. We don’t know where he got it from, but he got it — must have had it in his pants the whole time. But he got it out and started shooting randomly. Ends up hitting two people.”
As of this writing, Allstar Jr has yet to make any comments following his alleged arrest. Further details about the ongoing case regarding NBA Ben10’s shooting are awaited.
