BREAKING: New Champion Crowned; AEW Star Wins First Title in Tony Khan’s Company

An AEW star has just lost his title in a major showdown outside of the Jacksonville-based promotion. Following an incredible title run, the star dropped his championship to another major star at a ROH event that took place this weekend in Palm Beach Gardens.

The star is none other than Nick Wayne, who held the ROH Television Championship for more than a year. Wayne won the title by beating Komander on an episode of Collision in April 2025. He then went on to have an incredible run with the title, defending it against names like Rhino, Evil Uno, Titan, and Jay Lethal. But at a recent taping of an upcoming episode of ROH TV on May 9 at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the AEW star lost his title.

According to spoilers by JJ Williams, Wayne defended his championship against AR Fox. Despite an incredible performance, the AEW star failed to retain his title, resulting in a major title change in Ring of Honor. This recent Palm Beach Gardens show is yet to air on live TV for the fans.

This is a massive setback for Nick Wayne’s run in professional wrestling, and only time will tell where his story will move on from here. Moreover, the 20-year-old has been performing in the Ring of Honor for a really long time. He is expected to be coming back to All Elite Wrestling with an all-new storyline moving forward.

AEW President Tony Khan announced a major title match for the ROH Supercard of Honor

According to JJ Williams, following the title match between Nick Wayne and AR Fox, Lio Rush was shown. Afterward, Tony Khan made a match between Fox and Rush official for the Supercard of Honor show next week.

Besides, the show is set to feature some massive showdowns, including a Survival of the Fittest Match for the ROH Women’s World Championship. Well, it will be interesting to see how things will unfold at the big pay-per-view next weekend.
