Everton have now made contact in the race to sign Jarrod Bowen from West Ham United this summer, with a David Moyes reunion on the cards.
Whilst European football is gradually escaping their clutches, Everton can still reflect on an improved season when the summer arrives. It’s been one of great progress and one which should leave them in an excellent position to welcome reinforcements when the transfer window swings open.
Better signing than Stones: Everton could see bid accepted to land £20m star
Everton could be about to make a move for a Premier League star this summer.
The Friedkin Group already backed Moyes with signings like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Thierno Barry last summer. Now, they could splash the cash to welcome similar improvements – including a familiar face.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton have now made contact in the race to sign Bowen, registering their interest, as they attempt to reunite Moyes and the impressive attacker.
If West Ham escape the drop, their captain will reportedly cost in the region of £60m – making him the most expensive transfer in Everton’s history.

Relegation will likely see that price plummet, however, and potentially allow the Toffees to land a bargain deal. It’s at that point when competition for Bowen’s signature could also increase.
Liverpool and Newcastle United are already eyeing the West Ham captain and they certainly need no more encouragement ahead of the summer.
Everton may be hoping to have the advantage thanks to Moyes’ connection, as they look to land a player who would make all the difference to their frontline even at 29 years old.
Everton should go all out for Bowen
If Bowen is available this summer, then Everton must waste no time. The Toffees could need a replacement for Jack Grealish if they fail to secure a permanent move for the Manchester City loanee and the West Ham captain would arguably be an instant upgrade on that front.

As a talisman, Everton will struggle to find anyone as reliable as Bowen – especially at a cut-price if West Ham are relegated this season. It’s simply a deal that makes sense for all parties.
Moyes is, of course, a fan from their time together at the London Stadium and always backed the winger to the fullest during his time at the club. It would be a fitting reunion at this stage of Bowen’s career.
Whether the move relies on West Ham’s relegation is the big question. The £60m asking price if the Hammers avoid the drop would certainly make things interesting.
