Manchester United now believe a £70m midfielder could be “another Casemiro” and they are very keen on a summer move, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

Man United signed off for the season in perfect fashion on Sunday, defeating Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 at the American Express Stadium, but Casemiro was uninvolved, with Michael Carrick explaining he wanted to experiment with his side on the final day.
Carrick said: “It just felt the right time, I think, for Case; it was decided, and he was part of that as well. It was the right time, there is an element of balance, like I’ve just said, the last game, we’re not done, the season’s not done for us. We’re really conscious of that.
“So, there’s a real balance between trying new things, moving forward, keep evolving. There are always games we’ll try different things in that some might notice, some people might not notice others.”
It is looking increasingly likely the Brazilian will complete a move to the MLS before heading off to the World Cup, with Romano recently dropping an update on his future on X.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the transfer expert has also revealed United are eyeing Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni as a replacement for the 34-year-old, as they “really appreciate” the Frenchman.
“Aurelien Tchouameni is for sure a player they love. He’s a player they believe could be another Casemiro for Manchester United.”
INEOS may need to be prepared to spend big to tempt Madrid into a sale though, as a potential price tag of £70m was recently touted.

Tchouameni managed to outperform the 84-cap Brazil international in terms of interceptions per 90, despite Madrid enduring a difficult campaign, finishing eight points adrift of La Liga champions Barcelona, but he lagged behind Casemiro on several other key metrics for midfielders.
