‘The Devil Wears Orange and Blue’: Karl-Anthony Towns’ streak continues

Karl-Anthony Towns had to miss the premiere of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” because he had a playoff game that night. Since the film’s final premiere April 23, the movie has set box-office records and Towns’ team hasn’t lost a playoff game.

The New York Knicks won their 11th straight game and advanced to the NBA Finals Monday with a 130-93 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Towns has a chance to earn his first championship ring, the same year he’s in his first film to earn over $600M at the box office.

New York Knicks made a long-awaited return to NBA Finals

Fans of “The Devil Wears Prada” have had to wait two decades to see the continuing adventures of iconic fashion editor Miranda Priestley and her plucky former assistant Andrea “Andy” Sachs. Knicks fans have waited even longer to return to the Finals, waiting 27 years between Eastern Conference titles.

Towns has a short cameo in the film. Playing himself, Towns briefly chats up Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway, who is a die-hard fan of the Knicks in real life. In an appearance on “The Tonight Show” to promote the new film, Hathaway admitted she considered going on in an OG Anunoby Knicks jersey to support her team.
